At the start of April I got accepted in to university here in Thailand. At the time I was on an RS visa and I canceled it hoping I could make it out before lockdown happened didn’t happen. So now I’m on visa amnesty and need to get my ED visa but I’m not seeing that the Travel bubble is allowing Ed visas in. Any ideas as to what I may need to do before amnesty ends?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on visa amnesty after canceling their RS visa, and is unsure how to transition to an ED visa due to the travel bubble restrictions. There's concern about the possibility of transitioning from amnesty to a Non-Immigrant visa without a valid stamp in their passport. It's suggested to visit the immigration office for guidance, as rules may require valid days remaining on their current visa to apply for a new one.

what you should have done was WAITED to cancel the extension you were on from the RS visa and then cancelled it and applied for a new extension based on education right then. (That's assuming you would have used the same office for both though).

I personally know of NO ONE <- as in not a single person who was able to go from amnesty <- (meaning the only stamp in their passport is expired) to ANY in country Non-Immigrant type visa.

As a rule the immigration offices that issue in country Non-Imm visas need REAL hard stamp days left on your current stamp to apply for a new visa.

As Ben said, all you can do is go to the immigration office and ask.

The worst they will say is nope, they can't do it, then you'll be on amnesty (like you are now) and wait it out and do what ever it is the government tells amnesty holders they have to do when the amnesty is over.
