Hi, I would like to ask the visa advice.

I am currently in Thailand with ED visa and it will expire on 30th Sep.

I plan to move to Taiwan for my job as soon as possible. But Taiwan still closes and partially opens for some titles (including academic fields). Although my employer in Taiwan is trying to get special approval to enter Taiwan before my visa ends in here, I want to inquire the Thailand visa info for the sake of safety.

Since I won't continue my work here, ED visa can't be extended. Therefore, my question is, Can I change to other Visa type when ED visa ends while waiting Taiwan reopens? If yes, what kind of visa should I apply?

Thank you very much for letting me join to this group!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding an ED visa in Thailand, expiring on 30th September, and seeks advice on changing visa types while awaiting entry into Taiwan for employment. Since they will not continue their studies, the ED visa cannot be extended. One suggestion provided is to obtain a letter from their educational institution confirming the end of studies, cancel the ED visa a week before expiration, and apply for a 60-day COVID extension to have time for future plans.

Very sorry for the misbehavior. We will keep in mind that.

Get a letter from your school stating you stop studying the date your current ED visa extension expires. Go to the immigration office where you got that extension about a week before that date, cancel the current extension and immediately apply for a 60 day covid extension. That will buy you the time you need to make your arrangements to get outta thailand.

@Zon ****
Best to go get a letter. Bring a copy of your passport ID page with you. They will take it and then you can wait till they print it out for you. It shouldn't take long.
