Hello, I received a non-immigrant multiple entry B visa from Thai immigration on 26 March 2024. Instead of expiring at the end of this year or early next year, the visa expires on October 9 because that was when my old passport was expiring.

My visa has now been moved to my new passport but I now hear that it won’t be extended until the end of the year and a application has to be made for a new non-b visa. Is this true?

I ask because I have already booked tickets to Italy end of September until October 13 and and my current visa expires on October 9. I thought this would be a simple matter of extension but it doesn’t seem to be the case?
