Hi there, My husband has Non-B multiple visa valid till July 6, 2020 and entry stamp expires June 15 (today). Now he's in a process of work permit renewal that is valid till June 30th. Now labor office wants him to go to Immigration office to extend his stay (stamp) for 7 days (and pay 1900) before they can proceed on WP renewal.

Immigration office staff first was puzzled why does he need to extend his stay but after few minutes talk with our law company they told they can do one week extension.

Isn't he covered by Amnesty July 31st.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster's husband needs to extend his stay for 7 days to renew his work permit, as the labor office requires a valid stamp in his passport. Although they are covered under the amnesty until July 31st, the extension is necessary to fulfill labor requirements.

While your question is NOT visa related (seeing as it's about getting a work permit) I'll answer it anyway

The ministry of labor needs REAL days on the stamp in the passport and seeing as the amnesty is a 'no stamp' type they want him to get the 7 day extension.

Now, once this 7 day stamp expires they'll go on amnesty automatically..

Of course, the real question is WHAT took so long to get the work permit issued in the first place, IF their 90 day stamp expired today they entered the country around March 18th :O
