TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking assistance in extending their ED visa, which is expiring on July 3. They are currently in an internship program related to their studies in a hotel around Asoke and need an extension for an additional 60 days. The community has provided various suggestions, emphasizing the need for a work permit, support from the hotel, and possibly a certification letter from the embassy to facilitate the extension process.

Full time ED Visas (international school or university) can be extended in country with proper paperwork from your school.

Thai language ED Visas are extended every 90 days and require you to leave the country before the end on 1 year. To renew you can go to a Thai consulate in another country to apply for a new ED Visa.

(This is my understanding, but this was pre-COVID)

thank you for your answer.

I am here in internship since 18 April to 1 September.

I need to extend 90 days more.

I don’t stay 1 year.

My school is in France.

It’s an internship, part of my school program

You'd better check the required doc for the non-ed visa extension with the immigration(assuming the one at Chaeng Wattana ) I 've learnt you will need the certification letter supporting your visa extension from your embassy/consulate in TH.

Is the internship and studying finishing when the ed visa ends? Are you planning on continuing to work there or do you just want to travel around the country when it ends?

Hello,

No, the internship finish the 19 of august.

I am here since 15 April.

The 90 days finish on the 3 July, that’s why I need to extend.

And no, In September I have to go home

You won't be able to work unless you have a work permit and a visa that allows it. So the people who got it for you originally are the only ones who can provide you the necessary documents to extend it again.

I think internship on an ED is ok as it's part of the education rather than working. Saying that I'd assume the ED has to be associated with the place of study and the place of study would have to have arranged the internship

you'd still need a work permit. You can't even volunteer without a work permit in Thailand

I mean if I go to the boarder of Cambodia and come back immediately in Thailand.

I saw that we also can do that to extend the visa

that won't extend your visa but it will give you entry via the visa exempt route. Note, you won't be able to continue your internship by doing this.

To continue your internship, and I don't know if that's what you're trying to achieve here or not, you need to speak to your employer/education institute to get them to do it for you.

yes you can do that. A few friends have done same day trips to the Cambodian border recently. Just apply for Thailand pass beforehand.
