What are the requirements for proving funds with a Non-O visa in Thailand?

We recently discussed how the immigration would enforce the 400.000 THB rule with your non O visa. In Krabi immigration O was told that at my next 90 days show-up I need to prove my funds. Details were not given but it seemed like I will have to bring my bank book or another account statement from the bank.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the requirement for Non-O visa holders in Thailand to prove they have 400,000 THB in their bank account during their 90-day immigration report, particularly in Krabi. It is advised that applicants should bring their bank book or a bank statement to demonstrate their funds. A commenter shares that they weren’t asked for this proof in Jomtien upon extension renewal, raising concerns whether they should preemptively show their balance.

I renewed my extension on May 1st in Jomtien

They never gave me a paper or told me to come back to show them my bank balance

Maybe I should do anyway after 90 days!

, strange, most offices stopped that nonsense. What immigration office do you use? And did they give you one of the "come back in 3 months" receipts like I posted or just told you to come back?
Chris ****
@Tod ********
yes " show updated Bankbook"
Tod *********
@Chris ***
did they TELL you to come back in 3 months with an updated bank book?
Chris ****
i have to go next week. They need only the update from bankbook ????? Or again the 100 Baht letter from the Bank also ??? Thank you for your advice
Darren ********
@Tod ********
I will go back anyway. Better safe than sorry

@Darren *******
maybe they stopped that nonsense :O AFAIK they were one of the only offices that were having people come back in 3 months and show their updated bank book to make sure the 800K was still in the account.

All the other offices decided to just look at your bank book NEXT year when you apply for a new extension and see if you followed the rules or not.

@Darren *******
the paper they have been handing out at the immigration office in Jomtien when people get new yearly extensions based on being over 50 using banked money look like this;

the bottom has the date you bring your updated bank book in to show them

Yes I used the banked money. Maybe they forgot to give me the paper. I will go back anyway with my bank book

@Darren *******
IF you didn't use the banked money method of having 800K baht in the bank for 2 months before you applied for the extension you would not have received a paper telling you to come back and show your bank book in 3 months
Tod *********
And did you get a new extension based on being over 50 using the 800K baht banked money method?

@Darren *******
they gave me a printed letter. best to be safe and go after 90 days, update book that day.
Jayne **********
Yes you have to update bank book and show them it on the date they give you.
