Hi Everyone, new here and working on getting my marriage documents processed. Quick question about the "Extension of stay based on marriage" visa....

I see the 400K in a bank number tossed around a lot but what about monthly income? Is showing proof of monthly income through certificates of earnings and USA bank statements acceptable?

I don't have a Thai bank account because every time I have gone to try and open one I'm told I need a visa to have one so all my money is still in USA banks and funds.

Thanks for your kind replies

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the financial proof needed for an "Extension of stay based on marriage" visa in Thailand, specifically regarding the necessity of having a Thai bank account versus using certificates of earnings and US bank statements for monthly income proof.

As you live in Bangkok, I would say one of the expat facebook pages are your friend to help to find a bank,

Sorry, but finding banks is not part of the visa advice.

The only way to meet financial requirements for an Extension of Stay is by using a Thai bank account on your name

You can get a bank account on any visa, EXCEPT for amnesty. If you are *NOT* on amnesty, go to every bank you come across; with your girlfriend/wife, and ask to open an account. Someone *WILL* open the account.
