DTV Jakarta approved - Remote worker.

After researching all the options, Jakarta seemed by far the simplest and most friendly.

Gave them my application, work letter, Jakarta hotel confirmation, photos, passport, bank statements, and the fee (5,600,000 Rupiah, cash only).

They started glanced at the documents, mostly just verifying the info on the application and quickly started writing up my receipt for pickup, no questions asked. Took maybe 5 min.

The clerk didn’t look at my other passport stamps. Maybe the person who processed it did but they didn’t care about two past EDs (last ED extension was canceled properly but I doubt they would have cared if it wasn’t).

Bank statements had well over the required amount in a savings account for about 3 months. Also included an account information letter that stated the balance, account type, owner but I doubt I needed it. The statements had only had a handful of deposits and interest deposits, none of this “a lot of transactions in and out” that some have been asked for in Laos, Taiwan, and elsewhere. Although I suspect that’s for people applying as a freelancer or otherwise owning their own business.

Work letter had the company seal and signed by a manager. They were fine with a color scan and print, didn’t notice or care that it wasn’t the original which is helpful in not having to have a physical letter sent from overseas.

All the staff the were nice, polite, and fast.

Got there 30 min early and was the first one, another 15 or so quickly showed up after. Was surprised it wasn’t more busy as the day before they were closed for a holiday.

Only annoyance was getting the cash for the visa. Schwab ATM card wouldn’t work at three different machines (2 in the airport, 1 in my hotel). The bank said it was an issue with the machines not approving and not an issue with them or Visa.

I later found people online saying only 2-3 banks would accept Schwab cards there, but I didn’t have time to go hunting down more.

I used a backup card and got hit with about 9% in fee.

The ATMs only dispense up to 25 bills. Some have 50k notes, others 100k. I only had the 50k ones around so it took 5 transactions and I had over 110 bills stuffed in my pockets and wallet. If I knew this I’d have brought a bag to carry it all back.

IO in BKK mentioned he hadn’t seen many DTVs and wasn’t sure what would be involved with the extension. Guess we’ll see what they make up at the last minute.

Indonesia will be on eVisa sometime next month. If you’re looking to get this visa in the next few weeks and want to apply near Thailand, I wouldn’t bother with anywhere else unless you have to.

Applied for the covid extension at CW and got the usual 30 days under consideration stamp. Now my question: is is possible to change in 30 days directly to the 60 days extension based on marriage or do I first have to get the 2nd 30 days stamp for the covid extension?

Option 1 would save me one trip to CW and as I will fly to my home country in 87 days, the 30 +60 days based on marriage would be ok for me.

Thanks

Trip Report

Bangkok-MTT Counter K

Covid Extension

Applied after receiving numerous extensions since the program started during the pandemic.

I successfully got a 60-day stamp to 25-Mar. They remember my face by now, and verbally reminded me that this is the last extension.

They have said this a few times before, and shortly afterwards the covid extension program gets extended, and again I apply and have gotten extended each time.

One thing that's different from the previous times is that they said if I try again to apply once again in March, I will only be given 7 days, not 60. Not sure what to make of that, but maybe this time they really mean it?

Lastly, I was asked when I plan to leave Thailand. I verbally confirmed I will be departing after this extension. I was not required to present a flight booking.

1.What's the correct Immigration in BKK for this purpose?

2.What else i need except my passport, 1900thb, 1 picture and my flight details leaving?

3.What's the best time to go there, I wanna go today or tomorrow?

Thank you,

I entered Thailand on 25.09.2021 on a Visa exempt in Phuket. I did my "standard 30 days" visa extension in Phuket Patong immigration. Now I reside in Bangkok and would like to apply for 60 days Covid extension here. Which immigration office should I go to Chaengwattana or Muang Thong Thani Immigration? My current stamp is valid till 08.12.2021. As far as I know it is not yet offical that the covid visa extension program will continue until the end of December 2021 so I was thinking about going to apply before 26 November. Will the 60 days be added on top of the current stamp or the time counts from the moment I'm granted the extension? Thank you

Hello, I arrived on October 25 in Phuket without a visa and just did my 30 days extension in Patong yesterday. Do you think it's possible to go directly to Phuket town tomorrow to ask for a covid extension? Or will I be refused because it's too early?

If someone has already had to deal with the office in Phuket

Thanks :)

Hello everyone.

I just got back from the immigration office in Bangkok. I entered with a visa exempt, and thought I could get a 60 day Covid extension.

The lady at immigration only gave me a 30 day extension. Is this normal? I was under the impression I could get 60 more days.

Thank you in advance!

today i went to MTT to do my first covid extension (i arrived here on visa exemption and with tourism purpose). I arrived at 8:20 and in front of me there was 60 people already. but its quite smooth and in less than 1h i had my under consideration stamp.

have a question about it. i have to go back on 9Apr.

can you tell me what is the process? do i need to bring same documents and copies and fill in all papers again or just go with passport?

also they told me to register online for it. can you help me to understand which one should choose?

thank you 🙏
