Posted a month ago about how immigration told me I could stack 30 day extension and 60 day family visit extension. There were some comments saying it was either or. Chiang Rai immigration today granted me the 60 day family extension while I am still on the 30 day after entering 30 day exempt. It's not quite the 120 days because for the 60 day they made it 60 from today rather than 60 from the end of the 30.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user confirmed they were granted a 60-day family visit extension in Chiang Rai while still on a 30-day exemption. There was some confusion in previous discussions about whether extensions could be stacked, with comments suggesting it was either one or the other. However, the user's experience shows that it is possible to receive both extensions, although the 60 days do not get added to the end of the 30 days.
No one should have said either or because that's not the correct answer. In fact most immigration offices will not allow you to apply for the family extension until after you've already applied for the 30 day extension.
But there's also no way you asked about family extension and weren't told that this extension will start from the day you apply and not be added to the end. You're changing the reason for your extension so it starts from the day you apply.
oh I definitely didn't ask. I just went in with 2 days left to get the new one. I find it odd that the 30 days is tacked on and the family is a swap- but whatever, I probably only need about 10 days this time. Now how do I reconcile "you're an idiot if you wait til the last day to get your 30 day extension a right-thinking person goes immediately" with "to get maximum time out of the family extension you must go on the last day?"
