Phuket Town Immigration experience today:

Success! Non-O Multi extension based on thai wife (60day)

I am from USA, Got 60 day extension

Thanks to my assertive thai wife we discovered some new information that was opened today. Anyone Needing to do 90day reporting or report foreigner living in thailand can be done at the building across the driveway from the main building. This is where the shop that sells pens is. The line was very short for this but probably because people dont know its here. No need to wait with the tourists in the HUGE queue.

Tip: Make sure you bring ALL of your normal copies for the family extension. Otherwise its a long queue in the sun.

After your 90day reporting or foreigner reporting is done, go straight up to the nice 2nd floor aircon room.

No embassy letter needed for us Non-O people.

I showed up at 8:45am and was finished by 10:30am with the reporting and extension.

Good luck! I hope this helps.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post details a successful experience obtaining a 60-day extension for a Non-O Multi visa based on a Thai spouse, shared by an American expat in Phuket. It highlights a newly opened location for 90-day reporting near the main immigration building, which offers a shorter wait time compared to the main tourist line. The author emphasizes the importance of bringing all necessary documents to avoid long queues. Additionally, the post discusses the need for the spouse's signature and clarifies some rules regarding visa extensions and 90-day reporting.

Ok here is what i got from the OP ... he is on 1 yr multi-E visa but NO 1 yr marriage permit or extension - whatever you wanna call it - ... the 60 days extension of stay can be granted - in his case - normally no issues, the opposite office he mentioned is for anyone holding a 1 yr marriage permit/extension and wanted to do their normal 90 days reporting ( no need to bounce out/in through the boarder ) ... that office have nothing to do with people with multiple entry visas who should bounce out/in to reset their stay period in the kingdom ... but thanks for pointing out this new place for people to save their valuable time ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

if i go to phuket for 60 day extension based on thai wife with Non-O Multi visa can I apply for the family extension at this side building or do I need to do a 90 day report at this side building before I can apply for extension?
Pete ********
Thats what I thought just wanted to clarify. I think
@Wade ***
talking about two different things in post. 1. HE did extension at normal building no problem. 2. Advising 1 year visa holders they can do 90 day reporting at the side to save some time :-)
Robert *******
you do not make 90 day reports if you have the multiple entry non immigrant visa, as you are only allowed to be inside Thailand for 90 days

@Wade ***
did u need your wife there to sign anything?

And tm 47?

I printed it at home. Its online, google "Thailand TM30 pdf". They have the forms there but I prefer to have everything ready so I can queue up as fast as possible.

Really its basically the normal process for Non-O multi visa. But TM30 and TM47 can be done away from tourists which will save you a HUGE wait time. The tourist line is long and slow moving. Waiting for copies is long as well.

My wife signed all of the documents related to her as usual. And she was asked to do a TM30 form.

and that's what was to it. . . . Just a side note: you can receive the "60-day visit family" extension only ONE time per Visa class. So after the 60 days you are BARE of any visa and any extension or stay permit. I hope you are aware of it

Alright guys, I need a break from the computer. Nice chatting, and stay safe!

the reason changed, but the Visa is still good to use, despite the reason it was issued for, changed

@Wade ***
said, he did it before. So I think all is fine

Unless something changed, it's immigration office specific. SOME immigration offices allow you to get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting family once per visa. Other immigration offices allow this extension once per stamp.
@Gregor *********
, is this information specific to the OP's immigration office?

Dont have that luxury, been doing border runs the past 9 years every 90 days.

Yep, What choice do we have at the moment with the borders closed? I was planning on an Andaman trip in a couple weeks but thats not happening anytime soon.

Dont forget to look for the 90day reporting (TM47) location and report foreigner living (TM30). Its by the pen shop across from the main building where the bikes usually park. Officer said they opened that part up today.
Robert *******
Thanks, as well as 90 day reports and the address registration can be done on line or using mobile phone apps, it seems people start using them in stead of standing hours in line at the office.

Yes can be done online IF the website works. But you can avoid lines with tourists at the new location for the reporting that i mentioned.
