Just got back from doing an extension for visiting family on top of my extension to a SETV
My SETV extension is up on the 10th June and my new date of stay is till 5th August.
So the extension for visiting family is 60 days from the date of application and NOT added on to the other extension end date.
This was at the Korat immigration office.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports that their extension for visiting family is granted for 60 days from the date of application and does not extend the current SETV expiration date. This contrasts with other users' experiences, who have noted the 60-day extension is typically added to the existing visa duration.
Well I leaving on the 4th August so it's expected by me given the conversation with them a month or so back. You would want to be sure your getting an extension tho or it's a quick unplanned trip outta thailand to get another Visa or exempt entry.
There was no mistake i dont think as this is what they alson told me a month ago. The boss come seen me they hadn't looked at my previous extension on the next page of my passport and thought I was well overstayed.
Was a tense few minutes while I worked out what was going on and showed them my previous extension. Was all smiles after that. Phew!
