Do I need to reapply for a non-O visa after my 12-month extension for retirement in Thailand?

I was approved for my non-o retirement visa. Now, I wait for 60 days to apply for my 12 month extension. Once the 12 months extension is approved and I stay for a year. Do I reapply for the non-o visa again after the 12 months extension runs out? Or do I just keep applying for the 12 months extension every year?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After being approved for a non-O retirement visa and subsequently obtaining a 12-month extension, you will not need to reapply for the non-O visa each year. Instead, you will simply apply for a new extension annually. The only exception to this rule is if you fail to meet the financial requirements needed to qualify for the retirement visa extension, in which case you would have to reapply for the non-O visa.

You only need to reapply for a Non-O if you fail to meet the financial requirements for the past year i.e. 800k for 3 months, 400k for the next ~7 months then 800k again for 2 months prior to the new application

Make sure you do your 90 day reports on time they can be done online

does immigration typically ask for 12 months of bank statements?

Is the 800k balance tied to the 90 day report or is it just 90 days after the extension is approved?

I did some traveling so my first 90 day report was approximately 6 months into the extension

Some Immigration Office(rs) have been reported asking for that. I have also seen that if, during your one year extension, you are in Thailand but not maintaining the required bank balance you are on overstay as you do not meet the conditions for the extension as the extension is void.

ok I was thinking the same thing. Have you heard of anyone having to provide the 800k proof on the first 90 days reporting?

if you cannot follow Immigration law you should leave Thailand.

I just love it when people admit to breaking the law. And these same people will whine and complain when Immigration cracks down or tightens the requirements.

good morning baby.. did you sleep well? Seeing as you do not appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed, I will spend 2 minutes on you before ignoring you and going out to enjoy my day. πŸ”§πŸ”§

I have never and will never 'snitch' anyone out. If you think about it, what would I get to gain from it? I will tell you.. absolutely nothing. You are way off the mark.. but noticing your previous comments, I completely understand where you are coming from you poor dis-illusioned precious thing🀦

Now πŸ”§πŸ”§, please read carefully (it is ok if you read it s..l..o...w... if I am typing too quick for you to keep up) it is a fact that Immigration troll Facebook groups (just like this one πŸ”§) and occassionally they notice farrang like you that are seeking attention.. beating themselves on the chest and screaming "LOOK AT ME"... "LOOK AT ME"... they also love when the farang (often with limited brain cells left.. not saying your brain cells are limited.. I just think they have all been diminished) brag about flaunting the official Thai Immigration laws and brag about getting away with it.

Have you worked it out yet πŸ”§? Immigration love it when the dumb farang does 90% of the work for them, by using their 'real' names on Facebook. Makes it so easy for them to locate you and put a 'reminder note' in their system πŸ™„.

ps. you mentioned something about being 'sad' .. aww don't be sad princess.. so there you go, you got my 2 minutes.. and you will now be forgotten about when I hit the 'send' button. hoo-roo sweety.

you are a hero then. Can I come along with you the next time you try to extend your stay in Thailand? πŸ”πŸ‘¨β€πŸ¦° (ps. are you aware that Immigration scroll through FB groups such as this? Hope you are not using your real name lol)

@Lay ******
You could be asked to show you still have your 800k at the first 90 day report as that is part of the conditions for the extension so it's a good idea to update your bank book and have it available

good thinking, I plan to do it. Do they require financial documents on the 90 days reports?

@Bradley ********
that's your choice,but it is a requirement for immigration 2 minutes online can save you about a 2000bht fine

Apply for new extension every year.

Once you're on the 1 year extension, you'll just be applying for a new extension every year. No more non-O visa.
