TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of extending their visa by one day since their flight departs after their visa stamp expires. In response, multiple comments provide insights: while some suggest a fine of 500 baht for a one-day overstay at the airport, others indicate that a formal extension is not feasible for just one day, as there is no provision for a single-day extension. Several users emphasize the low risk of consequences for minor overstays, but caution against potential long-term issues related to future travel or visa applications.
What is the lie I am supposed to be spreading? I asked a question that is all. I have been coming to Thailand for over 50 yrs so there is a very good chance that I do know something about the place. So again what is the lie?
Never happened to me once, to get visa checked anywhere outside the airport. Anyway, person who posted this will be at the airport ( leaving ) and at that point they just want you gone.
My warning is don't get caught before you stamp out otherwise you could be saying Goodbye Thailand for 5 years. Don't get caught in a police check at a bar or in a roadside check etc.
been in Thailand 20 years. Never been asked to show evidence of my passport or work permit... only shown my driver's licence a few times at police checks. Never had a problem with that either
If you qualify for an extension you can apply for one. There is no such thing as a 1 day extension. If you entered as a tourist you can get a one time 30 day extension if you haven't already.
