TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has faced a visa application cancellation due to a 'wrong name' issue and seeks clarification on how their name should be represented, especially concerning their French naming conventions. Several comments suggest that the name on the visa application must match the passport exactly, advising to avoid auto-fill features that may misrepresent names. Users recommend checking the name as formatted in the passport and entering it manually to prevent glitches, implying that even minor discrepancies can lead to application issues.

Do you actually need a tourist visa? You get 60 days plus a 30 day extension without the need of getting a visa

Check your profile name match with your passport, mine was canceled first because on the profile name I only put my first and last name šŸ™ƒ

Edit : I am re applying and realised that my middle name was auto filled by the website with the information on my passeport picture. So it must not be a story of middle name. So what could it be?

enter all info manually first, before you upload a scan of the passport. Switch of autofill (delete all data you entered before or start a new application)

did they tell you it was for ā€œwrong nameā€ through? The auto fill is very glitchy and has a history of filling in wrong letters, like switch L and I. Best to delete the auto fill and reenter everything

Letter by Letter, must be careful name as in the passport

Which Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate did you submit your Thai E–Visa Application to?

Try to directly contact the specific Thai Embassy/Consulate to try to obtain a more detailed explanation or reason for the Thai E–Visa Application cancellation

Go to immigration with your passport and ask

It's a Visa application which will be tied to your passport. So the name needs to match identically to the name in your passport, not any other variations that you may go by. Your passport is applying for the visa šŸ˜…

Trying to explain to someone how to spell their name will only lead to other headache questions.

check the bottom of your passport detail side. You will find your name written in "international standard". You first and second names are separated by one "<" or ">", and your family name is separated by two "<<" or ">>". And avoid to use the "-" key

What is a Ā« second first name Ā» ?

in many countries we have two names. The second would be like the equivalent of middle name in the US, but it's literally called second first name on the local language. I also have one. Never use it except for official forms (as it's printed in my passport).

in France most people have 2 first name, but we don't use the second one, never. Most administrative papers don't include them at all. When I buy a flight ticket for ex, I don't put it, just my first name.

But on my passeport it's written : Tiphany, Emeline

I guess I should have put it. My mistake 😢

Americans also have a second name that we call our middle name, which is almost never used except for formal paperwork. It is in my passport and therefore needs to be included. Did you not include it at all or is the question if it should be included under first name or middle name?

what names are in your passport? They have to match on any official forms
Martin *******
Same as your passport I guess

CAREFUL! On the passport detail side, the full name is displayed twice. One name is written next to the picture, and the other is written at the bottom. These two names can differ, mainly some swedish, spanish, german or french names often contain letters which are not international standard ! The correct name must be taken from the bottom line, only this one is displayed by international standard
