What should I do if the Thai embassy requests documents I can't provide for my DTV visa application?

More documents requested got me confused. Please help!

About my situation: i applied for the DTV visa a couple days ago and yesterday got a response requesting more documents.

I have a german citizenship, but i dont have a permanent residency anywhere, because i founded a US LLC in Florida, left germany and just travel the world.

Right now im located in Austria and thats also what i wrote in the visa application, but somehow now they want austrian documents from me which i can‘t get because those are only accessable for austrian citizens or people that have a permanent residency here.

Chatgpt said there is no permanent residency needed for the DTV visa.

Also they want all my company documents of „Austria“ which doesn‘t make sense because neither am i austrian nor is my company austrian.

I hope you guys can help me because im totally lost with what to do right now. 🙏🏽

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is confused after receiving a request for additional documents from the Thai embassy regarding their DTV visa application. They are in Austria, yet the embassy is asking for Austrian documents, which they cannot obtain due to not being a resident. Comments suggest that the embassy may have misinterpreted their situation, advising the user to clarify their business status, consider applying from another country, or choose a location with accessible documentation.

I am in the same situation and made the same mistake -- except in my case, I'm an Australian citizen who attempted to apply in Hungary while travelling.

The short answer is, most Thai embassies in Europe only serve residents of the country they are in (and sometimes surrounding countries). I didn't understand this and lost my application fee as a result.

I agree that this is counter-intuitive. Asking those of us who live as digital nomads should be able to apply for the DTV Digital Nomad visa without proving residence.

You dont have an id card but at least driver license no ? When you pick the location already made the wrong move.

Pick a place where you can show your proof docs for location of residence instead of where you are right now.

For example I can be in Thailand now and apply location i pick hk, because i have hkid or driver license just that simple.

Redo and pay again perhaps

You can come to Southeast Asia and apply in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam in person.

It appears they think you're in Austria for work or working for an Austrian company so write a little letter to tell them exactly what you do, why you're in Austria, that your business is registered in the states. You haven't even told them what kind of DTV your applying for so I think you better be very clear in letting them know what you're doing there and why you're applying from there whether you're just visiting or working, in the meantime you can also show your German citizenship and that you've been working in other countries around the world or whatever it is that you do, as well as you're an American registered company. Make yourself look organized and professional, you can't just show funds and say gimme this visa.
