TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around finding budget-friendly methods of leveraging soft power activities, particularly for the DTV visa in Thailand. Participants express differing opinions on what 'budget-friendly' means, with some suggesting that training services like Muay Thai may not be cost-effective if solely pursued for visa purposes. Others emphasize the importance of genuine engagement in activities rather than using them merely as a visa workaround.

I don't understand why some people want to stay in Thailand using the soft power DTV but don't want to engage in a soft power activity. If you have decent income/money, create an LLC, give yourself a salary and apply based on that. If you don't have enough money and only scrapping by using the low living cost of Thailand by doing border runs and now want to use the soft power just to get the DTV, you should feel ashamed and should go back to your home country to earn more money.

No idea what an LLC is but i agree with what you have said. I want to do Muay Thai and enjoy the culture and compare living costs to PH but i would not look for cheap training or learnig-ya get what ya pay for in most cases

Shame doesn't come into it. If a person can get a five year visa utilising a four-week cooking course, good for them. What about all the expats who still pay

+ baht to an agent to avoid putting 800k into a Thai bank account? Do they feel shame? I doubt it!

If somebody is using it to really learn and practice like a professional, it may be OK, but just for the DTV visa, I will not pay that kind of money just to stay in Thailand.

I think you cannot say that without considering how many lessons.

To me it looks like you are not really looking for a muya Thai training and need a visa for that, but you want a visa with the muay Thai training as an excuse....

Budget friendly means different things to different people. Zero cost would be the medical route via appointment only

I thought they all are fairly cheap for the service/knowledge/training you receive
