Has anyone tried to doing a charg back after being rejected?

Giving a nonrefundable rejection with zero explanation is basically the definition of a scam.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around whether individuals can successfully charge back visa application fees after facing a rejection. Most comments emphasize that the fee is typically non-refundable as it covers processing services, not the visa itself. Many participants argue that attempting a charge back would be futile and could lead to further issues, including being blacklisted for fraud. Additionally, a rejection without a detailed explanation is seen as standard practice in the visa application process.

Your chances of getting a refund is 0%

Many embassies in the world do the same, is not exclusive from Thailand

Doing a charge back would be fraud, as you would be lying.

I use to deal with the Hells Angels, they had a similar policy, but I never once thought about challenging it.

The fee is stated as non refundable, you applied knowing this.

There are real consequences that have nothing to do with Thailand, Thailand MFA, DCA, or the particular Thai Embassy/Consulate where a Thai Eโ€“Visa application was submitted, such as first-party fraud, chargeback blacklists for false chargeback claims, and credit score damage from false chargeback claims, but again,

up to you ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Policy says no refunds so a charge back will result in a loss to yourself and also an bank admin fee usually around $30, if you got rejected just face it don't be a #### try again or another embassy

If you're planning to come to Thailand, I wouldnโ€™t attempt a Chargeback, youโ€™ll need to accept the decision. Many people are successfully obtaining it, sometimes very easily. If you were denied, thereโ€™s likely a good reason.

If it is stated in publicly available terms and conditions (and I am sure it is), there is no grounds for a chargeback.

Did they ask for additional documents? Was it a rejection or a cancellation?

The money paid is an application fee. Itโ€™s the processing service that youโ€™re paying for.

The bank will not refund as a charge back as the embassy duly processed your application.

The fact that you donโ€™t like the outcome is irrelevant.

No it's called you didn't qualify and were rejected .

They don't owe you an explanation or a refund.

That's like demanding a potential employer tell you why you didn't get the job ๐Ÿ˜‚

Katja Stevensin 25 years of owning 3 companies and having performed many many interviews I have never had a person contact me and ask me why they didn't get a job ๐Ÿ˜‚

You sound like you're self entitled and if your type called me I'd flat out say because you didn't and hang up ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

It's based on qualifications if theyre not met in either case that's your answer period.

Where do people get off thinking they're owed an explanation when rejected or not hired ๐Ÿ˜‚

Humanity has grown soft and to coddled ๐Ÿ˜‚

I dont know what world you live in where people contact an employer and ask to be told why they didn't receive a job they applied for ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

actually, and off the subject, that might not be a bad idea. If I interviewed for a job and didnโ€™t get hired, go back and ask, what did I do wrong? Is there some way I could improve my qualifications, my interviewing technique, and the like.๏ฟผ not that they would reconsider me for the job, but so that I could learn. Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

both are in fact valid. If an error was made, requesting an explanation is perfectly acceptable. Whether they supply one is another matter. Equally, itโ€™s common practice to ask for feedback when being rejected for a job. Itโ€™s a good way to understand what you need to do better next time and a way to gauge if the company followed good practice.

You pay for the processing and not the visa. It is well documented and you accepted that upon your submission.
