TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around uncertainty regarding the reopening of flights from London to Thailand amid the ongoing pandemic. While there are various educated guesses and opinions about timelines, no definitive answers are available. Some community members suggest that it may take several months before restrictions are lifted for travelers coming from the UK. The focus appears to be on long-term stayers, with speculation that travel might open up by August or later, but many stress the reliance on evolving government decisions, the status of the COVID-19 situation in both the UK and Thailand, and the concept of 'travel bubbles' with countries that have low infection rates.
who knows ? they could very well extend the visa exemption till end of august yet .

If they're opening travel bubbles, and neighbouring countries are included which it sounds like they will be, then I doubt they'll extend the current amnesty.

No judgement about protest. However this is London today. Maybe Thailand and other countries might be worried about letting people from certain countries enter for a awhile

I think the most probable flights are London/Bangkok transit from Hong Kong . Heard about hkg/ bkk no need quarantine once flights reopen in July
That would surprise me. Thailand is currently very carefully returning Thai citizens to the country with a mandatory 14 day quarantine. So far every flight has returned passengers testing positive during quarantine. I can't see them relaxing the rules especially for UK and America and Brazil
I saw Beijing is quite concerned about the ones there. Govt here is desperate to get Chinese tourists back so doubt they'll bat an eyelid at new cases therw
these travel bubbles dont apply to transit travellers

Hawaii, part of America, has zero infections and is negotiating treaties with rich Asian countries like Japan. Don't think Thailand is on the radar though
I have been to Hawaii on a cruise, full of Americans married to Japanese women, ironic they bombed the crap out of America and America bombed the crap out of Japan.
I totally agree. The thais do not seem to be too bothered with tourism. They are not missing it in 80% of the provinces. I think any tourist including china is a long way off yet.
it’s to strong plenty of options for your money, a number of years ago I bought a lot $ at 2 $ to £ still have a lot left, currency fluctuates it’s the money men running and ruining the world economy
Totaly Wright.....Hope they will be Banned till end of next year till they have sorted out what health means for the people....

I think your source must be CNN, the BBC and other major news outlets cos they've been saying that for weeks. The latest goss that "tourist bubbles" will be created allowing in people from low-risk countries (China, S Korea etc). Defo gonna be a while before Brits and Yanks are allowed in
and if Thailand needs English teachers they;d better learn how to understand Aussie and Kiwi accents very quickly!
not sure Aussies are coming anytime soon either and I live here I Don't watch CNN ABC CBS or any other BS news feeds they'll probably implement the same as Cambodia you'll have to leave $3000-$4000 deposit and pay until you are cleared from testing

Thailand is currently negotiating with a few other countries that now have very low or no new cases of virus. I don’t think the U.K. quite fits into that category yet.
, yes for sure , they have done a great job out there . Goverment got something right for once 🤣🤣🤣.

I think the major 2 factors that will determine if Brits can enter are the number and source of cases in Thailand and the number of infected people in the UK. If Thailand experience a surge in community transmission the date you after will move out and the same apply with the UK. If however the UK infections decrease the date move closer. I think Thailand will open to countries like NZ, China, Japan, Taiwan, S Korea and Oz first. Then as other countries infections decrease they will be brought into the "travel bubble". At present I would say not before the new year. One interesting possibility is however for longstayers. If the Thai government allow longstayers to come in with rules like 14 days isolation they pay for, health cover etc. For normal tourist the 14 day isolation do not work but for a longstayer its more acceptable.
, agree fully all the unknown , there is a slight increase in the south west England, all these matches going on , give it 2 weeks, another spike or not ???? , this could run on into next year 😱😱😱😱
European cases tracking could be very low end of June
USA
Russia
India
Way behind
Considering that this leaves only China as a major contributor to Thai GDP I would hope this will help

Thai news , August earliest, that could change, depends if we get a second spike , I do believe they also stop repatriate flights also , lot of EU countries because of the high death Total from covid , are way down the list to be let back in . I have my thai lady stuck here with me (UK). Thailand have a very low count of covid cases , even down to zero for a while , everytime thai nationals enter from other countries , they get new cases , so who knows when ?????
, they say it has been put back until August , like they did in June/ July, so yes iam.not holding my breath , it's just what the thai goverment are saying, like everyone no body knows for real. 🤔🤔🤔, personally I would be surprised new year kind of time. Pretty sure we are in for a second wave , soutwest has had a rise .
I'd be surprised if there isn't a spike in cases following the protests last weekend.
They're only talking about travel bubbles with countries with similar control over covid as they have, named China, Korea, Japan (I think), few SE Asian nations but not MY or SG and a couple of unnamed Middle Eastern countries.
A few things have been leaking out from government areas giving some clues as to what's going to happen in the upcoming months, but would be good to know your background if you want informative info

I'm no tourist , as are most on this site so visa and certain payments are fine by me
I even understand the government only attracting long term stayers .

Bloody hell boys
Just seeking helpful guidance from people that may understand
you asked why OP didn't contact the embassy or airlines rather than asking on Facebook. That is not particularly useful advice as the embassies and airlines don't know right now. Ironically, you posted this useless advice on... Facebook.
no one can answer this, only the Thai government which will change at a moment’s notice , depending on who is sacked.
Alan *******
excuse me but I gave you the best answer I could - which, as I said, is only a guess. Call it an educated guess if you like.
If nobody here is being more precise that's because nobody can be at this stage. I think you should be grateful for our best guesses if that's all we can give
plenty i havent seen my wife since January and i am only in Singapore not far away. Thai goverment has no way of knowing if UK will get second wave after all these protest and the pictures we have seen on the beaches with no social distancing. Your better off trying to work out when UK will have it under control
what country are you in because thats going to make a big difference. The first wave of travellers will probably be those with marriage visas as you want see the mother of your child in a country other than Thailand you are going to be way down the list sorry
I have no married visa I came to take documents to marry. My girlfriend his pregnant as I said. Even Finland embassy here asked why don't you bring your wife here. But ye no marriage document yet
you just have to wait and see like hundreds of thousands of others. I am stuck Singapore my dads in Africa. Just keep checking news sites. Channel news asia is a good one for the region can sign up for alerts for vietnam.
I am actually on the line group for Thai embassy in Singapore. Also stuck here waiting. They are ok but they cannot do anything until advised by goverment.
I would stay with the Vietnam option. Thais talk lots of indications but they normally follow uk with a bit more vigour. I am not sure as a tourist you would want thailand as masks are compulsory and the drinking and socialising bans are going to hold for a long while. Isolated resorts will maybe get away from it but they will not let anyone willy nilly around thailand.
I have a pregnant girlfriend that sepuse to be my wife
I must meet her in Vietnam or Thailand I'm not a tourist

NO cross border from Thailand to Vietnam, and if/ when it opens, Vn will only give 30 day visas which then require Border Runs To renew, not extensions. Quarantine is a different matter both sides. When? STOP asking - it will be announced.
Maybe you will have to put an Asian head on. Thai girls in Bangkok havent seen their children since last year and dream about going back but transport between provinces have been cut off. Set up a video chat as much as you can. Hopeful things will come right. You maybe see your problem. But there are millions around the world in the same boat. I must go back from thailand to uk. To sort out work. But I want to come back next week to see partner and kids bit everyone has to understand sometimes needs must.
I am pretty sure if you buy a ticket for after new years Eve you should be able to enter Thailand.
You might need a visa tho.

My crystal ball is in for a service !

With all due respect nobody can answer that. We can only guess.
If you're coming from the UK, I guess you can expect it to take several months - and even then, there's no guarantee the tough restrictions will have been lifted for foreigners arriving here
I hear Blackpool is nice at this time of year

Oh lots of people here experienced in what happens during a pandemic considering last major one was in 1918.
