Hi, has anyone flown from UK/London since the new lockdown announcments on Saturday? Specifically trying to leave UK/enter Thailand on tourist visa. I have seen the announcments of "reasonable excuse/work/education only travel etc", I'm wondering if anyone has gotten through or plans to on TR?
I was planning on 2nd Jan flight, might just risk and buy everything and confirm COE

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about traveling from the UK to Thailand on a tourist visa following new lockdown announcements. They express concerns over travel restrictions and seek feedback from others who may have traveled recently or have plans to do so. Comments highlight potential lockdowns by the Thai government, travel assessments, and airline policies regarding passenger restrictions.
I work at Heathrow. Our instruction is that passengers are aware of the restrictions, but we don't ask. So long as they are valid for their destinations, we won't be stopping them.
I suspect that each airline will be treating the travel ban differently. They will be the ones who will be fined if their passengers are refused entry.
i lived phuket for 20 plus years Thais are terrible gossips and Phukets one of the worse place. There is a total of one confirmed case on Phuket. Only this week they just started having tourists arrive at airport, you really think they will lockdown
Da Niel. Logic does not necessarily apply. If the country goes into lockdown flights will stop as people will be stuck in the immediate vicinity of their ASQ, unable to travel anywhere. Many hotels will close again, so realistic accommodation will not be available. The Philippines also has a 14 day mandatory government quarantine, but as of today has banned all flights carrying passengers from the UK.
Joe Heaver. Just need to build a wall along the border with Myanmar. Bloke called Biden might have one for sale next month:- near new condition, hardly used, one careful owner 🤣
The Thai PM has said he will assess the situation in Thailand on 28 December. Just beware he could announce a total lockdown of Thailand, which could again stop international flights arriving.
Dominic Ireland. I'm just comparing to the previous lockdown when virtually all international arrivals were stopped. If people decide to wait a bit longer there will be no demand for incoming flights.
