Has anyone booked a flight from England hoping for the airports to be open? I’ve booked a flight at Christmas

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users are discussing their feelings about booking flights from England to Thailand amid the ongoing pandemic. Some have already booked flights with the hope that airports will remain open, while others express hesitance due to concerns over potential cancellations and refund issues with airlines. Comments suggest that while some airports have remained operational, there are ongoing uncertainties related to travel restrictions and quarantine regulations, particularly in relation to vaccination progress and government announcements.

Taken a chance and booked for October - purely speculative guessing prices will rise according to demand

I am surprised Singapore has taken so long. I talk to ex-colleagues Vaccine Industry there and they are confused too. They say the vax is ordered but not delivered. Back in 2009 GSK sold them 5 million doses of the Swine Flu vaccine - it was never used and went out of date. Maybe being cautious?

they are actually going quite fast i am in Singapore now and about half my colleagues have had it done. I am due in about three weeks and i am only employment pass holder. I think they make announcement caustiously rather than Thailand which is usually more optimistically

I thought they would be quicker there - they have the infrastructure and are good at organising things like this. They love their SOP's - just if it is not on the SOP they freeze :-D

Yup, booked November flight 🤞🏽✈️ I've booked and cancelled and rebooked and have lots of vouchers that now most airlines are allowing extended travel into 2022 to use. Worse case scenario its cancel again and I get new vouchers/refund. I'm booking early to avoid potential price increases 👍🏽

Personally I have friends who are owed money from last year from airlines and wouldn't be giving them my hard earned furlough just yet. It's looking that Boris the clown has no intention of opening the country. It's a wait and see.
