TLDR : Answer Summary
The community is anxiously awaiting updates from the Thai government regarding travel restrictions and quarantine requirements due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns. Discussion includes the potential for a travel ban from some countries and mandatory quarantine for others. Participants express concerns about flight plans and the impact of new rules on travel, as well as the status of the 'Test & Go' scheme. Transiting through Bangkok is permitted under certain requirements, but the situation remains fluid and unpredictable.
ok. Just wondered. So you mean the UK are saying this like they did before, not Thailand. "Good reason" is a bit vague like last time. Loads of people still flew.
lots of people still went you could make a dentist appointment in Bangkok some thing like that l think it will be ok to go thailand won't stop tourists it's the UK goverment who are the problem
Total ban on travel to and from all countries, and breaking relations with all western countries. Emergency consular issues can be dealt with at the North Korean embassy.
Flying Friday as well , but if it follows what they did months ago when setting the 10 day quarantine back to 14 , the change takes effect several days later at least.
I wish you all the best... I have customers arriving from Singapore on Wednesday... It's so mental and so un necessary... If they go back to quarantine then that will destroy tourist (as in genuine 2 to 3 week holiday makers) confidence and we could well lose 2023
me to Jan 20th trip planed if this news is bad or this situation get worst after the first on the year I am gonna pull the pin on the whole thing and start getting my refunds…..sucks
Interesting , seems no change till Friday at least , and mention of intensified screenings . Seems somewhat more bright than just a complete cancellation
'Gen Supoj said the CCSA's operation centre will identify "high-risk" countries before holding a meeting on Friday to decide on the extent to which the "Test & Go" scheme may need to be revised. If the risk of further infections is considered high, the scheme may be suspended completely.'
Could be a straight ban from entering Thailand from some countries and 14 days in quarantine for others or somewhere in between, this is Thailand very unpredictable what they are going to do.
Important to note though Bangkok is a sandbox zone as of dec 1 , so in the worst case scenario , if the sandbox zones still stay the same , there shouldn’t be too much difference , unless of course u wanted to travel to multiple provinces .
Very hard to say. Not clear why they haven’t suggested just more testing or contact tracing like Singapore has (who’s generally more strict about covid than Thailand)
so essntially this means if they scrap the test and go, ill just have to rebook my hotel for a 7 day quarantine in BKK? currently just have a one night test and go booked.
