TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the impact of COVID-19 on Thailand's tourism sector and potential reopening timelines. Participants express mixed feelings about the reopening, citing the need for tourists and the dire economic situation, while also voicing concerns about health risks and the feasibility of travel in a pandemic environment. Many predict a gradual return of tourists, particularly from China, and emphasize the importance of cautious approaches to border reopening.

I am in many ways glad about that.πŸ€” The people on planet earth are now doing one Huge experiment.πŸ‘¨β€πŸ«πŸ§πŸ‘©β€πŸ«πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘©β€πŸ’ΌπŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘¨β€πŸ”¬ There are many different groups with differing theorys about the virus, contagion... ariesols, droplets, surfaces, distances, vitamines, inside, outside, rebound or not, immunity or not hot or cold. With gawd without gawd...Every possible varient in conditions is being examined by the most competent researchers on the planet, and a lot that failed grade 9 science but have strongly voiced opinions based around supporting their Cognitive Dissonance. The truth can be distilled out of this huge amount of information, but likely not until Donny little hands is no longer any part of any equasion so perhaps Next december or January.

Hello, I live in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§,my destination in Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ is Chiang Rai,never been to Pattaya, I’m 58 can’t say I’m interested in the β€˜night Life’ there, I’m definitely not a gutter rat lol, I stay in Chiang Rai with my fiancΓ© she’s 54,owns her own house 🏠 in Chiang Rai and works full time for Mondelez, it’s looking like the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ has Covid 19 under control and shops and businesses are opening through out June and schools in June and September, it is a difficult situation booking flights I’m planning on flying to Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ in January 2021 ie if a second wave hits although a vaccine actually produced in Oxford UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ is going to hit the market in September and hundreds of millions of doses will be available worldwide so here’s hoping I can return for me Thailand πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ is the history the amazing colours everywhere and the people and outdoor living compared to the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ anyway lol πŸ˜†

This article is not really true, many countries in Europ will remain close till at least September for tourist such as Italy or Spain, so Thailand is not at all an exception. And whatever, this summer cession is already down, nobody want to make a big holiday trip in the next weeks, better to stay close home to avoid any quarantine or problem if there is a second wave... That is hard for economy but unfortunately the reality, all my thoughts and thinking for the poeple strongly impactedπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ stay strong, better days are coming....

If you have been here 20 years then you will know the Thais do not hold in high regard sex tourism and see such as Pattaya as in Bangkok before a tourism model. The Covid has done what the government could not. Do you really think the thais are suffering up north east. They would like to see it continue on lockdown. It is not affecting them at all. In fact they like it. No noise at night. No booze or fags. What do they need with planes. They are not even missing the transport. If you think you understand culture. Start again. We all have done that and never been right.

Thailand seems to have done well containing covid19... And must be careful how they move forward... But with 7 million and up without work and no money from tourism you can see how the government will angle the opening of borders.. 13 to 17 per cent of the economy is a lot to lose... China will come of course.. Then later Indians.. And the falang... The tourists are sorely missed... Wonder will it be the same... Hope so...

I doubt that will be many tourists anyway. Who wants to sit crammed together on a plane for hours these days?

β€œThailand's good standing in the face of the crisis with China, along with strong pent-up demand, make it a logical short-term solution for overseas tourism to return to the Kingdom." I predict Thailand will open to Chinese tourists in August 2020. Everyone else? Thailand doesn’t care πŸ˜‚. Oh, right, fourth quarter, so October maybe. Maybe.
