Does anyone know if Thailand may change their rules on visitors from the U.K. ? With omicron rising more countries like france and Germany aren’t letting us in. Just wondering if they may change the rules before I fly in the 29th.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around uncertainty regarding potential changes to Thailand's entry rules for U.K. visitors in light of rising omicron cases. Many participants emphasize the unpredictability of governmental decisions during the pandemic, noting the possibility of changing entry requirements, such as stricter quarantine protocols or removal from the Test & Go program. Concerns about vaccination requirements and testing on arrival are highlighted, with a mix of opinions on the effectiveness and necessity of current regulations.

Those who know won't post on fb and those who opine on fb don't know.

This from Richard Barrow. “The Minister of Public Health is proposing for Test & Go to be scrapped and quarantine brought back for all international arrivals. This is despite the fact that only 0.14% of Test & Go arrivals tested positive. Even talking aloud about this plan will be disastrous for tourism.”

Something to keep in mind though is the requirement to enter Thailand is stricter than European countries . In Thailand you need to be vaccinated , have a negative test before hand , and a negative test on arrival before you are allowed out. That catches a lot more people from coming in with covid than just requiring a vaccine or vaccine and test before flight like European countries do. My guess would be they would only take off Britain from test and go if they saw significant numbers of British nationals testing positive on arrival. But no way to know for sure.

Atte if those 0.22% of travelers were let out into the streets they would spread the virus. Not sure what the percentage has to do with the effectiveness of the program. Thailand has been trending down in daily covid numbers for over a month.

catches lot more people??? Are you joking! This far they only found 0,22% travellers with positive result!!! But PCR on arrival brings MONEY and that they LOOOOVE!

You do not need to be vaccinated to enter Thailand but if you are not you must go through quarantine

It's always possible and a risk of traveling during a pandemic. Likely IF they change anything, it will be removing a country from the safe list for test&go eligibility and making them use a sandbox or quarantine entry.

will sandbox just be Phuket? Or will Bangkok also be a sandbox location? I can’t remember the rules prior to test and go
Michael ********
@Brandon ***********
that is the most logical scenario that sandbox rules will be introduced

Nobody knows rules can change quickly if goverment think its required.

No one knows for certain and anyone who says yes or no is just guessing. My guess is no, but it's just that, a guess.
