Good afternoon team, You may find this post being a bit premature, My 1 Year extension married to thai wife and will expire on 19th july 2021, when would it be advisable to apply for another years extension ? would that be 2 and a bit moths before the run out Date ? as to not being marked down as an Overstayer, and would i have to do the complete process again the same as before Photos ect.

regards Craig

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the appropriate timing to apply for a one-year extension of their visa based on their marriage to a Thai wife, as their current extension expires on July 19, 2021. It was advised to apply approximately 30 days before the current visa expires, around mid-June 2021, to avoid being classified as an overstayer. The application process is similar to the previous year, requiring photos and necessary documents, and upon applying, a 30-day consideration stamp will be issued before receiving the year extension.

What I would advise you do
@Cr***
is;

a month or so before you're going to apply for your new yearly extension, go to the immigration office with your thai wife. Get the hand out listing the requirements AND while you're at it have her ask if there is anything required that is not on the handout.

That way you will know for sure what's required..

Good luck with it, take care, stay safe (y)

At MOST immigration offices you can apply for a new yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp SO you could apply middle of June 2021.

You need the photos, the documents, the copies, the bank letters, the bank book updated etc exactly like you did before.

When you apply (just like last year) you will get a 30 day under consideration stamp (some offices will do an in home visit) and then when that 30 day stamp is up you go back to get the year extension inked in

Why would you be marked down as a overstayer IF you're getting a new extension BEFORE your current stamp expires <- dial the paranoia back just a notch or three ;)

OK Thank You Tod for the information Given as always, i just thought that if i was under consideration and it passed my expiry date, i would be classed as overstay.

Once you apply for your new yearly extension
@Cr***
the under consideration stamp becomes your new permission to stay stamp until you go back and get the year extension inked in.
