TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the timeline for applying for a new one-year extension based on marriage, which is due to expire on May 24th. According to a comment, Phuket allows reapplication for a new extension when there are 45 days or less left on the current visa.

unless I'm mistaken Phuket allows you to apply for a new yearly extension when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp?
@Stuart ********
is that correct?

My problem is I’m traveling outside Thailand in April, and coming back in May to apply for extension, so the question would be how in advance at least do I have to apply, 1 week, 2 weeks before expiration?

Ahh I see
@David *****
you're not asking how far in advance, you're asking how close to the expiration date you can apply 🙂

There is no minimum required time left on your current stamp to apply for a new year extension

You can apply for a new yearly extension right up until the last day your current stamp is valid for. Obviously don't wait until the last day because if you're missing a document or something you run on overstay trying to sort it out but no issue at all applying a 2 weeks, 1 week, a few days before..
