Hello I have a 6 month multiple entry tourist visa, it was granted from 13 January until 13 june. However I arrived in Thailand on 27 Jan. My question : Do I have to extend my visa on the 13th or on the 27th?Of march (after 2 months)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You should extend your visa based on your date of entry, which is 27 January. Your 60-day stay starts from that date, not the visa grant date. Therefore, you should apply for an extension after 60 days from your entry, around 27 March, rather than on the visa's validity end date of 13 June.

The visa is valid for 6 months, on each entry before the valid until date on this visa you get 60 days of stay.

If you plan correctly and enter Thailand just before or on the valid until day you still get 60 day of stay, this means you can get almost 240 days of stay out of this visa by doing 4x an entry into Thailand.

Each entry can be extended with another 30 days at local Immigration Office.

Yes, but what you hear has to do with counting.

60 days entry, extend that with 30 days makes 90 days.

get new entry of

60 days entry, extend that with 30 days makes 90 days

Now 90 days + 90 days is 180 days and the visa is valid for 6 months which equals 183 days.

Hi
@Robert ******
interesting reading this. I am on a 6 month multi entry tourist visa from UK. My first 60 days finishes 5th April, I am looking at options. a) Extend an extra 30 days b) leave and come back (somehow) c) fly back to UK. For option (a) I have been reading on this forum and advice from UK was I can't extend a multi entry to 90 days and some say I can, but it can only be done twice in 6 months? I can't find any official documentation about this. You are saying "Each entry can be extended with another 30 days at local Immigration Office". Correct?

On arrival you got a new stamp in your passport with day of arrival and Admitted until ../../.. Before that date, you can make a border run to activate a new 60 days period or apply at the local Immigration Office for a 30 day Extension of Stay. Example of the stamp:
