What does the six-month validity of the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) mean for my travel plans to Thailand?

I have a question about Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV)

I don’t understand this: The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) has a validity of six months from the date of issue and the duration of stay of up to sixty days per visit.

Another place it says this: Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) is valid to enter Thailand for 6 months from the date of issue.

I understand the 60 days per visit and then have to leave and come back.

But about validity of six months. Does that mean that the 6 months starts from the date when you get the visa issued? If that is true then have to use the visa very quick?

Or does it mean that you have 6 months to enter Thailand after the visa is issued??

Can anyone help to clarify this? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) has a six-month validity from the date of issuance, meaning you can enter Thailand multiple times within that period. Each stay is up to 60 days, after which you must exit and re-enter. It's important to check the "Enter before" date on the visa to know the final day you can first enter Thailand using that visa.

What you need to be careful with is not the date of issue, but the "Enter before" date in the visa sticker or "Visa must be used by" date in the visa receipt .pdf file. Those are the last day you can enter Thailand on that visa.

The Date of issue. Many people (including me) did not Check it and missed out on the second Entry. Best to Apply for the Visa not to early 😉

I’ve had 3 METVs. It’s definitely a balancing act to not wait too late to make sure you get it in time vs getting the most of the 6 months to use it.

The visa is issued on day x and valid 6 months from that date. You can enter Thailand as many times as you wish before the validity date expires and you'll be stamped in for 60 days each time. It goes without saying that you must meet any entry requirements in place for each entry.

Sorry, but for me, you are repeating the same things and I don't know what is different between them.

Visa issued date is only one which means the visa itself is issued from the embassy. So it makes sense you apply METV just before your first travel to Thailand.

EVisa is .pdf file not the sticker like that in the image, but the information is the same.
