Sorry if it’s been asked but can’t find the answer. I’ve applied for the 6 month multi entry visa. I understand I need to leave every 60 days, that’s not a problem. What I want to know is when I enter on my last stay, will it only be valid to the end of the original visa stamp or is it 60 days from re-entry?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a 6-month multi-entry tourist visa, you will receive a 60-day stay each time you enter, as long as you come in before the visa itself expires. You can extend this 60-day stay for an additional 30 days at immigration. Therefore, your final entry allows for another 60 days, which can also be extended, provided you make your entry before the original visa expiration.

Assuming your mean the 6 month multi-entry tourist visa, since you didn't say what type of visa it is.

With this visa you get stamped in for 60 days every time you enter Thailand, as long as you enter before the visa expires.

You can get about 9 months in Thailand from this as each time you enter you'll get 60 days which you can extend for 30 days at immigration. Then leave and re-enter for 60+30, then leave and re-enter just before the visa expires for a final 60+30.

I’m Australian and we can apply for it. Not cheap at $300 AUD but saves all the hassle of queuing up for extensions. I plan to spend a lot of my time in rural/remote communities so not the easiest to just drop in and get an extension

5 year is $600 so better deal :)

Totally get that.

I plan on staying mostly in Bangkok when I go back, so I just need to spend some dreadfully boring hours at the immigrations office standing in line XD

But at least I'll save the money for the visa. :P

not that much of a saving given that each extension is about 2000thb. So I see it as totally worth it!!

A extension is 77AUD based on todays exchangerate. 😛 So it is still quite a bit of savings involved.

But the total might be not too far away from eachother if you add the initial visa-cost if you go with a tourist-visa and not a visa exempt.

so it’s roughly a $70 saving to not have to queue up! Worth every cent 😆😆😆

You may not be aware but it is now possible to book appointments at immigration offices, so there is no requirement to queue up anymore.

here are some of the websites for appointment booking.

Yes but not all consulates offer it. It's also much more expensive than single entry tourist visa.

Ah, gotcha. The pricetag makes it a bit less interesting to be honest.

But thank you, it might be interesting in the future!

thanks. Yes the MTV. That’s great. I only need it for 60 days at a time so this makes life so much easier! Awesome
