What should I do if my Thailand Pass application is denied due to hotel confirmation issues?

After waiting 9 days for my Thai Sandbox Pass for Phuket, I got word back that my application had been denied because my "hotel does not confirm your booking on Thailand Pass within 72 hours". When I contacted the hotel, they said this was because of a new procedure, and when they tried to do whatever it is they were supposed to do, my application had already been denied. When I contacted the hotel again the next day, they reported that after checking again I was indeed on the approved list and couldn't understand why I had been denied and not given the Pass. I have yet to get a response from the authorities at tp.consular.go.th and it looks like I am out of time anyway. My flight is set to go on 5 Feb so no time to restart things. Anybody else encounter anything like this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user encountered issues with their Thailand Pass application for the Phuket Sandbox, as it was denied due to a lack of hotel booking confirmation within the required timeframe. Despite the hotel claiming the user was approved, the pass was not issued. Other users shared similar experiences and provided advice, suggesting reapplying with proper documentation, ensuring the hotel sends the correct confirmation, and being persistent in reaching out to authorities or using travel agents for assistance.

When I had issues I immediately called up the embassy and spoke to a live person and they approved my application while I was on the phone with them. You just have to be persistent.

I got rejected 5 times,tried phoning but got left with just music playing,e mailed twice no reply. Made out fresh application no different than the first and got accepted in 2 days with only 7 days before flight.

Your hotel need to provide a letter of booking confirmation with SHA+ logo on it. (Sample attached) Confirmation from travel agent like Agoda etc. won’t work. If you book via online travel website then you will need to call hotel to email you SHA+ letter. If your application rejected, you should receive an email within couple hours inform you the reason and asking for you to supple more documents. But if you done it and your ref no. disappeared, just apply again. You can also reach @ThaiConsular via Line app. They are very good at responding all questions regarding Thailand Pass.

Thanks. I got one of those and included it with the initial application. It still took 9 days to receive this message: "Thailand Pass system has rejected your registration due to Your hotel does not confirm your booking on Thailand Pass within 72 hours. Please reconfirm your booking and reapply for Thailand Pass.

If you would like to make adjustments or attach additional documents, please update your submission by clicking the 'check status or edit' tab via the following link:"

Which I did and received the same message as above within a few hours. Anyway, I'll be trying some of the other advice presented here.

Other people have been reporting this error. It seems this new functionality is not working properly. Hopefully they are aware of this and they will fix it shortly.

You can still make it, contact one of the agents referenced on the groups. You will need to pay a fee, however since you have already applied they can fix your application in 24 hours. My Phuket Sandbox hotel provided me with a confirmation that listed my PCR Test Receipt number and hotel provided transportation, I believe this is a requirement for the Pass. Good Luck

I have used Trunk Travel they have a forum on Facebook. Other people have used asq.in.th. they have an expedite service that claims 24 turnaround.

I had similar issues. I blamed the hotel but honestly, I don't know who to blame. My hotel told me "re start the proces, restart the process". My hotel has also proven to be inadequate in provided necessary paperwork when applying.. I had a local friend call them and complain.. Finally someone responded and they start with the necessary paperwork (hotel confirmation, vaccine registration, transportation)..

I dont know what works, if anything. What I did:

- had my friends call the hotel and the ThaiPass call center

- I copies the tp support e.mail on all communications with the hotel.

Eventually I got an e.mail saying I was approved and included the PR code.

If I were in your situation I would get all the e.mail address for the hotel (support, general manager, owner, blah blah). I would write an e.mail to TP copy everybody else. My email would be a long list of where the hotel screwed up. Careful about how you word that part.

My advice maybe bad advice so use at your own risk.

It does. But I've been told it is not good for international travel as it is state level and not federal. I've been to the UK and three other countries this past year, and they all accepted my hand-written CDC Card. I assumed it would work in Thailand as well.

I would give it a try? It may work for Thailand.

Which is another reason I think it would take too long if I started it all over again.

Try again. From what I understand, the hotel has to approve it within 72 hours.

Thanks. I'm contemplating. Perhaps I will just apply again going for the new Test and Go thing in Bangkok, which is where I need to end up anyway. Am just nervous that I would wait another 9 days to have it rejected again for some odd reason.

your hotel messed up. They need to confirm within 72 hours.

Your hotel need to confirm with who? I'm going to apply for a new Thai Pass tomorrow when it opens. The hotel seems confused about their role in the Thai Pass confirmation. Can you tell me what they are required to do?
Brandon ************
@Stephen ******
There's a whole new system that requires hotels to report all of their reservations for entry to Thailand. As with every new system in Thailand, it's going to be useless for a few weeks until they get it figured out.
Lisa ********************
@Ste****
I think they have to confirm with the Thai pass, system. But I'm not exactly sure myself. And it seems many hotels, don't really understand the new system. 🤷‍♀️
