Why was my Thailand Pass denied despite having uploaded the AQ Hotel booking confirmation from Agoda?
My Thailandpass got denied although I uploaded everything including the booking confirmation of the AQ Hotel by agoda. What is the reason?
Answer summary
The denial of the Thailand Pass application may be due to not providing an official booking confirmation directly from the hotel, rather than just a booking from online platforms like Agoda. Users have reported that obtaining a confirmation letter directly from the hotel is crucial, as many hotels delay in communication and may not acknowledge third-party booking confirmations swiftly. It is also important that the hotel is a SHA Plus certified establishment and that the booking includes provisions for airport transfer and COVID-19 tests. Sharing personal experiences, many commenters suggest that direct communication with the hotel, ensuring all necessary documents are uploaded correctly, and verifying the hotel’s compliance with SHA Plus requirements can improve the approval chances.

I booked with booking.com, it said in small print with thaipass dont get confirmation letter if booked with booking.com. i asked the hotel via message and they sent me confirmation letter.

Agoda offers are always useless. Good luck trying to get your money back.
Start again but follow the instructions on this post from ThaiPass or book direct with Nouvo City Hotel which I found to be excellent.

Have you paid for hotel. I reserved on booking.com but had to pay hotel before I got approved

Confirmation of SHA+ Hotel, additional to paid RT-PCR tests...you have 2 option either pay transport and test by yourself (attach receipt) or have hotel confirm transport and tests for you.

Could it be because New Thai Pass applications were cancelled for Test and Go a while ago? Only ones made before 22nd Dec are allowed at the moment (if for Test and Go). Or maybe you also use Thai Pass for AQ and Sandbox schemes.
Caroline ***********
@Janey *****
The Thailand Pass system is used for Sandbox and AQ also (not just Test and Go). It has not allowed you to start new Test and Go apps since Dec 22, as you mentioned. Just wanted to clarify in case someone else reads this thread trying to make sense of everything!

Do I need Thailand pass even if I don’t plan on leaving the airport? But I do have to grab my luggage 🧳 and that means I’m exiting.

I have not yet done my Thaipass but I did just finish my visa. I had a lot of problems with the hotel. Eventually, I had a Thai friend call the hotel to request the certificate I need for Thai Pass. The hotel in turn requested I purchase the transfer and pre-pay for 2 tests. I dont know how necessary all those things are but I made the purchase and provided the receipts to the hotel and they provided the certificate.

This hotel did everything for us regarding the SHA+ certificate got it within the hour. They arranged the airport transfer and transportation to the testing clinics. And they speak perfect English. Check out the video we made whilst staying there showing the drone shots of location and video of the rooms, the prices the swimming pools and the beach 👍

Once you find the right hotel, email them directly / call them if possible. Then they will give you the confirmed hotel booking from hotel. Hope that works!
George *********
Maybe your hotel is not approved by the govt?
Alejandro ***************************
GET BOOKING CONFIMATION from the agoda app, with that they aprove it.
Adam ********
Mine was approved within seconds with that not an official booking confirmation from the hotel, use safari or internet explorer to search on agoda website for sha plus/asq hotels there is a section that gives you all available hotels in the area your searching. Many people have done it this way not through booking with the hotel direct as you normally get a better price through agoda
Lai *************
Adam Moreno, I used Priceline.com will that work?
Alejandro ***************************
@Adam *******
exact, need to GET BOOKING CONFIRMATION from there,Adam ********
@Alejandro **************************
that was from agoda not the hotel, I got the official hotel confirmation the next day but I’d already been approved on the Thailand pass off the agoda confirmation. The thing they are looking for is as long as your confirmation says airport pick up, 2 rt pcr tests and your there for the correct amount of nights it doesn’t matter if the confirmation is from the hotel or your booking siteAlejandro ***************************
@Adam *******
ive tried to do direct from hotels, and they told me to use agoda, so agoda is fine, it worked for me, the important like we say is to upload very carefully all the dosuments and make sure teh QR is uploaded well, i got aproved 2 times, first time took long and had to write emails for that, seconf was automatic.Adam ********
@Alejandro **************************
yes vaccine qr is what seems to be the main hold up if you don’t upload, I just don’t understand why people are commenting dont use agoda or other booking sites when you clearly can, have these people even applied for the Thailand pass before?Alejandro ***************************
@Adam *******
i undestand yes, i got all those direct links to pay in message from the hotel in agoda app, was very easy clear, also the vaccine QR is very important i think, then is automatic.

Can you use Agoda booking for Phuket sandbox? Just submitted my Thailand pass...hoping its ok

yes, Agoda worked fine with my application!Alejandro ***************************
agoda booking worked for me, just make sure is a SHA PLUS + HOTEL, and tell the hotel in the chat from the app that you are coming with sandbox, flight number, etc, they will reply with full instructions,

You can book through agoda but you need to email the hotel and get a confirmation email from them.

Online booking sites does not work AQ hotels properly. Hotels are delay to send back email and hard to communicate. Look for good travel agents.

Cancel and find another hotel. You need a paid confirmation letter for the complete package including tests. Book directly with Hotel avoid these third party sites.

@Jo ******
most important is: book asq at hotel directly. Mostly you get a confirmation of your request and information how to pay. And what paperwork they expect. Some hotels have regular guests and asq guests. In separate levels of the hotel. Have a look at your booking . Did it mention asq?Andrew **********

@Adam *******
I searched on Safari with a laptop and had the experience of seeing Test and Go package with one test, but seemed Way too cheap. Called the Hotel to see if it included transportation. Actually it was 3x Price. The hotel said the AGODA listings were incomplete. As long as you can get a confirmation letter of prepaid reservation from Hotel but how do you do that when AGODA offers refundable booking? I’d advise just booking directly.Adam ********
@Adam *******
yes they are if you search on safari/internet explorer there is a section on agoda for sha plus/asq hotels. The problem is people are using the app and that doesn’t show the packagesԱդամ ********
@Benjamin *****
I saw a hotel I wanted there on Agoda or Booking but seemed to cheap. Called the Hotel reservation department directly. These sites were not displaying the proper package rates and do not provide the required documentation(paid receipt). Better book directly with hotel.
