During my last visits to immigration, I saw an incredible number of passports, some of which had been brought by agencies. There were lots of people queuing at each counter to present their passports for various reasons. My question: has it ever happened to any of you, independently of agencies or yourself, that your passport was lost? If so, what did you do to solve the problem, because the passport is the most important document?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about experiences related to losing a passport while in Thailand and seeks advice on resolving such an issue. Multiple comments emphasize the standard procedure for lost passports, which includes reporting to the police, obtaining a police report, and then going to one's embassy to secure a replacement passport. Some users also highlight the importance of keeping copies of the passport and being cautious by not handing the passport to third parties, suggesting that immigration processes have established safeguards.
Don’t hand passport to a third party is safest option, immigration have controls in place and you get a receipt when you leave it for visa renewal. It’s just overnight anyway.
In addition to a copy included in my copy of my visa extension application, I always keep two copies of my passport, one of which I carry on my person at all times. I file the other copy for emergencies such as needing to replace immigration stamps in a new passport after losing the original.
Same thing anyone else does for a lost or stolen passport. You report it to police and then take that police report to your embassy to get a replacement. Once you have that you take the new passport to immigration along with the police report to get your stamps replaced.
