Hey guys this is kind of an urgent post, I had just found out that my nationality is not on the list of counties in the Thai list. I have just applied with all the needed documents, sent a follow up email for the urgency as it is Wednesday night I just applied and my flight is 6pm Monday. Any chance or assistance with how to get an urgent exemption. Note that I am in Australia (nationality is not Australian) however I cannot go to the Embassy as it’s a 6 hour flight from me.

Please anyone if you could help in any way that would be appreciated ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat facing an urgent visa situation posted that their nationality is not listed as eligible for a Thai visa, and they have an imminent flight. Despite providing necessary documentation and reaching out for rapid processing, they are unable to visit the embassy directly because of the distance. The community provided suggestions, emphasizing that there is little chance for expedited processing, and recommended canceling the flight and applying for a visa from their home country.

Fly to your home country and apply there.

What's your nationality? It might be on the list under a slightly different(even partially wrong) country/territory name.

that question was asked and answered 23h ago... Sudanese, so not on any list such as exemption or VOA. The OP's only choice is to cancel the flight - he/she will not get any visa in time.

I see. I first understood he was trying to apply for a visa and couldn't find his country on the list.

Obviously you did not give them sufficient time to process your visa. Change your flight.

Unfortunately it doesn’t apply in this situation.

The OP holds a passport that is not eligible for visa-exempt entry or VOA, so urgent entry services cannot be used.

If the OP were from a country eligible for visa-exempt entry (or VOA in some cases), then our services could be used - but in this case the application must go through the MFA.

I’m a permanent resident however my passport/citizenship is still in process. In Aus PR residency can still travel internationally with a certificate of identity which looks like a passport but clarify that you are PR and not a nationality of Aus. Only issue i looked past that my nationality is not accepted in Thailand which is the issue now here

RedMouse1980 if anyone is going to use a "Travel Document" (Refugee Travel Document) or a Certificate of Identity Travel Document issued by ANY country, then they NEED a Thai E–Visa, regardless of original Nationality (this is true of many, if not nearly all countries when using a Travel Document/Certificate of Identity)

Also important, there are specific requirements and details for the Thai eVisa Website when applying for a Thai E–Visa using a Travel Document:

Anyone with a Travel Document (perhaps Refugee Travel Document), then there are specific selections that must be made for Nationality and Nationality at Birth on the Thai eVisa Website:

You have to select specific XX_ Nationality and XX_ Nationality at Birth

Change your flight to Malaysia if you can enter there without visa ?

And wait for your visa to come through..

No way to fast track your application..

It takes as long as it takes.

You should be far more diligent on visa entry rules before you book flights

This is from the website for Thai embassy in Australia - 10 business days, but upwards of 4-6 weeks. You gave them 2-3 business days.

Are you a resident of Australia? You need to check to even see if they process visas for non-residents

You will not be able to enter Thailand.

Best option is to cancel the flight, talk with the hotels, and submit for a actual visa, and then reschedule.

Looks like you will be rescheduling your flight. Did you apply on the website to the Canberra or Sydney consulate? One is faster than the other.

Op says it is a 6 hours flight so they must be in Perth so Canberrra is the only option.

RedMouse1980 sorry buddy, it is going to take forever for you. You will need to change your flight. The Thais are very racist against men from Africa as they know most of them are here to deal drugs on Sukhumvit Road.

RedMouse1980 very weird that you had a sudanese passport and you still didn’t bother to check the visa rules until the very end given than this passport hardly grants anyone access without proper visa outside of africa.
