Hello,

I have a trip planned to thailand for 60 days and my plane is on monday (departure from paris).

I made a request for a tourist visa on october 7 and still didnt get it.

I fear that I will not receive a reply before my departure so I am now exploring my options on how to get to thailand and make sure I could board the flight and have the right to get in the country.

Is there anyone with a similar experience with a canadien or french passport ?

That would be great if you could share your experiences !

Have a great day,

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Paris is concerned about not receiving their tourist visa for a 60-day trip to Thailand, which is scheduled to depart soon. They seek advice from others who have experienced similar issues, especially those with Canadian or French passports. Respondents mention that the French embassy may take over 15 days to process visas and recommend checking with the airline regarding boarding without a visa. It’s suggested that travelers without a visa can enter Thailand with a visa exemption stamp for 30 days, with options to extend or 'border bounce' for longer stays.

Lots of posts from French and German citizens who have applied for a visa but not got it in time for their flight.

Enter with a visa exempt stamp for 30 days. Not an issue. Depending on how long you intend to stay you can either apply for an extension for 30 days at a local immigration office or “border bounce” to activate the visa.

We have reports that the embassy in Paris is very slow and requires at least 15 days if not more.

You need to ask your airline what their requirements are if you fly without a visa and see if they'll require proof of a flight out of Thailand within 30 days.

everything in France is slow we are going through the process of selling our farm and retiring in Thailand but cutting through the red tape here is painfully slow.
