TLDR : Answer Summary
A Kenyan passport holder applied for a tourist visa to Thailand but faced issues uploading additional documents on the embassy's e-visa portal, which was malfunctioning. With a flight approaching in a few days, the individual sought advice on what steps to take, including contacting their embassy and using alternative methods to submit the required documents. The community suggested various solutions, such as direct contact with the Thai embassy, using different devices for uploading, or even physically visiting the embassy for assistance. Additionally, there was confusion regarding visa eligibility, with confirmation that Kenyan passport holders cannot use the e-visa system while in the UK.

Please what additional documents do they ask for?

Can you please give me a checklist of what you should have when applying?

This would be my first time applying. I’m also a UK resident but hold a Nigerian Passport.

thank you very much. Yes that helps 🙂

I’m going to assume a hotel reservation and fully paid flight itinerary, not those dummy flight tickets.

what I would say is

Contact a travel agent and see if you can book a preliminary flight, something that can be amended so basically a flexi ticket, incase like my situation where you dont get the visa in time, you always have the option of changing the flight date or time

to be honest as long as they can see you have accommodation while you are visiting and that eventually you have a leaving flight, they don't care what kind of flight it is lol

its pretty generic stuff

- Picture of the main page of passport

- Passport sized photo

- If you have a BRP card then they'll require a picture of this

- Recent bank statement showing you have at least £500 in your account

- Flight itinerary showing inbound and outbound flights within the period of time you are applying for

- Letter to confirm your employement from your employer (can get a generic reference letter addressed to 'The Thai Embassy London'

This used to be quite the workaround - maybe Hull but also maybe the old Birmingham address. Whatever you are likely to get a more caring, more constructive approach than from the London Embassy. BTW isn't it the case that the London Embassy can now only be visited by appointment???

I'm confused, your post says you are a kenya passport holder, but in answers to someone later you state your are from the UK "quote:: im from the UK" . you can't get a visa if you are in a 3rd country "not your home country" this seems to come up here a lot. If you are from UK can you come visa exempt... I guess 1st you need to decide what country you are from.

No it is not "You are not eligible to apply for a visa through Thai E-Visa system. Please apply for a visa in person at the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate." is what you get when you enter Kenyan passport and location Kenya. You either used a scam website or you are a troll (sorry if it's the former).

i would recommend contacting or possibly even going to the thai embassy in kenya, see what they recommend you do or see what they can do for you

You cannot use the eVisa systen with a Kenyan passport in the UK "With a Tourist visa, you can stay in Thailand for no longer than 60 days. If you wish to stay in Thailand for more than 60 days, you can extend your stay with the Immigration Bureau. Suggestion : You may apply for visa at the following mission(s)

Royal Thai Embassy, London"

With a Kenyan passport there is nothing you can do other than having a valid visa to enter Thailand.
