I applied my Thailand e visa on 29 December and today’s it’s 12 January they didn’t issue a visa , the day after tomorrow ( 15 jan ) I have flight to Bangkok , can anybody give me some suggestions that what should I do because my flights and booking arrangements are confirmed i can’t refund , the visa status is on pending approval since 6 January .. if anybody have some information about it , please let me know …
Summary so far
The user applied for a Thailand e-visa on December 29 and it's still pending approval as of January 12, with a flight scheduled for January 15. They seek advice on what actions to take given that their visa has not been issued, and their flight arrangements cannot be refunded. Community suggestions include contacting the embassy for expedited processing, changing flight dates, or considering alternative entry options such as visa exemption or visa on arrival, although the latter options may not be applicable based on the user's nationality.

Just take your flight, I have a friend who did the same, he entered on tourist and received the DTV while he was in Thailand.

However, some embassies/consulates request additional documents such as proof that you are still in the country where you applied...

In this case it doesn't matter though since his nationality needs a visa to enter.

the onward travel proof does not cut any ice of anything he is doing, as he cannot enter visa exempt or on a VOA either

Pretty simple as you can’t come I. Visa exempt etc so have to cancel the flight and wait until you get the Evisa .If you even get it tbh

Personally i would call thai consulate/embassy first then if no joy. Contact airline and ask how much it would be to change date of flight. You have no other options k

Yes call them immediately, get the application reference number handy.

I'm sorry, but there's a minimum age requirement to obtain DTV. The applicant need to be at least 20 years old... Since you are only 19, your application are likely to be rejected.

How you know he applied for a DTV?

oh, sorry... I saw him post this question in a DTV-related forum as well so I didn't even realize that his post didn't mention what visa he'd applied for.

You cannot enter Thailand with a tourist visa and then continue with another visa. You have to leave Thailand and re-enter.

Pakistanis aren't eligible for it

If cancelling or rescheduling your flight is too expensive you could fly to Thailand and enter Visa Exempt/Visa on Arrival. One the e-visa is approved you could exit Thailand to a neighboring country and re-enter on the e-visa. This may prove to be a less expensive option.

Please explain how a Pakistani can enter visa on arrival or visa exempt, since they qualify for neither.

I cannot as I wasn't aware of his national origin. I didn't examine the application. My apologies.

Iv had exactly the same thing happen I was in Sri Lanka and applied for an e visa paid my money and the embassy kept saying pending approval. I was flying to Bkk 4 Jan no visa so three days before applied on line for tv arrival card got instantly no cost and entered Thailand on that with a two month standard stay. 6 Jan my e visa was approved. So I’m going to head to immigration in chainat see where I stand.

Iv no idea :-(

actually you entered thailand on visa exempt as a uk passport holder which gives you a 60 day entry stamp. You didn't need an e visa which if you applied for a tourist visa then you would have also got 60 day entry stamp. The arrival card or TDAC you filled in within 3 days of travel is not a visa and has no bearing on whether they let you into the country, its just to inform them you are arriving on a certain day everyone will get an email confirming submission usually within seconds but this does not mean you can enter thailand if you dont have the appropriate passport, which of course you did

I did , but they didn’t even respond.

That is only 7 working days including today as the day of submission normally doesn't count. You can't enter without a visa on a Pakistan passport so you have little choice. Contact the embassy and see if they will expedite your visa, if they don't and you can't change your flights then you just lose the money.

Just wait , miss your flight if you have to so you can get your visa.

Change the date of your flight and wait for your visa because if you are in country you will have to leave again for your visa to be activated

@Phillip *********
nice to know. But do you have to activate on entry from.the country that issued it or could you pop over to Vietnam then use it to reenter
Phillip **********
Phillip **********
@Farang ********
that I’m not sure but logically it would make sense to enter from the country that you got it from. You are supposed to stay in the country you apply for the visa until you get confirmation of granted or refusal

Do you have a Chinese passport or are you a Chinese resident? Many of the Thai consulates in China do not allow non-citizens or residents to apply for a visa.

If you are not, did you check with the consulate to see if they process visa applications for non-residents?

Also, the 12th will only have been 8 business days since you submitted your application. Most embassies advice at least 15 business days processing time.

What can you do? The only thing you can do is contact the embassy. No one else but the embassy can do anything.
