TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their pending Thailand e-visa application filed on December 29, which has not been approved before their flight on January 14. Many commenters suggest that the visa might be denied due to the user's age and nationality, advising them to consider other options like visa exemption or visa on arrival. They also recommend contacting the embassy for clarification and express concerns about traveling with a pending visa, which could lead to potential deportation.
You’re too young for the visa you applied for so it will get denied, I would cancel the application and come in on visa free if eligible - but make sure you cancel to not have issues with a pending visa as I know someone who came in with a pending visa and was deported pending approval
It will be rejected - your too young - as the first poster pointed out you need to be 20. I would make other plans as i dont believe your eligible for visa on arrival or visa exempt if you have a Pakistan passport.
Anonymous participant you should've booked a flexible flight meaning you can change your flight anytime without penalty. It's what my husband did for his DTV. He had to change his flight twice before he got his DTV approved.
Your nationality definitely triggers their scrutiny and delay. I feel they just put you under the same category of Indians. It’s sad, but racism is real here. Try to enter under exemption, but they’ll probably still give you a hard time.
I already asked a few other questions, but the last one is length of time; the date of submission doesn’t count, so your first business day is Dec 30th. December 31st, Jan 1 and Jan 2 were holidays. So you had 5 days last week and today, for a total of 7 business days. It looks like current time is 15 business days, but they still suggest to apply 6-8 weeks in advance
Cancel your flight is the only thing you can do. You don't want to have your visa pending approval to get cancelled when they see you enter Thailand. Flight ticket is worthless compared to visa in terms of importance
That’s not how it works, Foreign Affairs and Immigration aren’t connected. My daughter got her DTV approved while in country because they were taking forever. Immigration just said go out and come back in to activate it.
My application went from pending approval to request document after 8 days I think and then they requested interview but portal was showing processing documents. After interview it took around 10 days to actually receive the visa.
I see two potential issues with your application. It states that your birthday in Dec 2006, which means you are only 19. I believe you are only eligible for the dependent DTV at that age. For Soft Power and Digital Nomad you need to be 20 or older. It also says you are Pakistani but applying via China. Only Chinese nationals and residents can apply there. Are you a resident? If so, you need to upload your resident ID. If not, you can’t apply via this embassy.
Which country are you from? If you can’t cancel the flight, I would go with an exemption of visa and when I have my visa approved, I would go out of the country and come back
