What should I do if my hotel cannot perform the TM30 online registration due to system issues?

Hello everyone.

My hotel manager says they can't do the online TM30 as the system is down nationally. What should they be doing instead and what should they be actually giving me to take to show at immigration? Is the TM30 registration reference number and lease contract and receipt enough?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The hotel manager is unable to complete the online TM30 registration due to a national system outage. It is advised that the hotel may provide a physical TM30 copy with a cover letter, and the user should carry their lease contract and receipts to immigration. Alternatively, the hotel can file the TM30 at a police station if online options are unavailable.

If i remember correctly there can do it with police station as well and police report too immigration best is ask immigration

depends on immigration office /province. In Bangkok, you cannot file TM30 at police stations. You need to go to Immigration office if reporting in person.

I was under the impression that "you" (i.e. the individual) did not have to worry about a TM30 for temporary changes of address (i.e. the odd overnight stay in a hotel). You only need to make sure you've been registered if it's to become your new permanent address; if you'll be renewing your "visa" extension there, or wanting to do your 90 day reports as there.

OK, I agree that in the specific case that "you" are also the possessor, then you should report yourself... Bit of a bugger if you have two places you own (or possess) such as a weekend place, especially if you can't report on-line (since Immigration offices are closed at weekends).. I've seen reports that people in this situation have been told they should simply choose which residence they wish to be formally registered at. But since my reply was to the OP, who specifically states she is staying in a hotel then this situation is not relevant to her particular case.

different immigration offices have different policies when it comes to the TM30. Some want it ONCE when you enter Thailand, and some want it filed no later than 24 business hours after you arrive at a location.

Ask what your immigration offices policy is.

Not exactly correct... As the form says as its title, "NOTIFICATION FROM FOR HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE

WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED", in case You as a possessor of the property, you also have the responsibility to be reported.
Elisabeth *******
So you have to do every time after you change your home?

And what if they don’t do for you? How can do by myself?
Ellie *******
You have to be reported TM30 every single time you change the address.

Your landlord or property manager is the one who is supposed to report TM30 for you. But you also can do self-file at some immigration offices.

For example in Bangkok, self-file works as this post

In other provinces, you can refer the post above and check the local office how you can do.

Thanks everyone. I believe they intend to do it (by post I suppose.. communication is a struggle) so I don't know what I would physically take to show immigration as I should be going this week.

IF they're doing it by post they'll get back the bottom of the TM30 form which is your receipt

IF where you stay files one for you it will look like this

the manager can provide you a copy of the TM 30, along with a cover letter. Just ask , they're normaly very accommodating.

a TM30 for her to file?

The law is clear; a hotel must file a TM30 no later than 24 business hours after you arrive at a location (source:

I would have the hotel watch this video from the Thai government about the TM30, and then ask to go with them to immigration to fill out the TM30.

While the law is indeed clear about when it has to be done, this is the first time I know of the online TM30 system (which all the hotels and guest houses have been using for over 10 years) has been down like this :/

I dunno if they'll cut slack because of it
Ellie *******
Sound like OP's hotel is aware of TM30 and they do usually. the point is they cannot do it online NOW and give OP the receipt because of system down....
Ellie *******
Or ask hotel staff/manager to call and talk to immigration office what they as hotel side should do for you with this immigration matter.

Good question (y) Unfortunately I have no idea what the real answer is :/

I'd say take your receipt & lease from your hotel with you when you go to apply for an extension and if you have to file a TM30 on your own.
