What do I need to do to get this paper through a hotel in Bangkok? I stayed in Chiang Mai and received it at the end of my stay from the hotel. However, I have called several hotels in Bangkok; only one had any idea what I meant when I asked about TM30, and they said they could only provide a screenshot of their submission online. I need the paper if at all possible.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain your TM30 registration document from a hotel in Bangkok, you can request a screenshot of the online submission made by the hotel. Most hotels complete the TM30 registration online and provide a screenshot instead of a physical document. It's acceptable to print this screenshot for your immigration purposes. If you need assistance, you can visit the hotel in person with necessary documents, or ask if they can print it for you at their reception.

Screen shot it fine. Just print that out at immigration. The copy shop at immigration can do that for you.

it's actually not your responsibility, it's the house owner, hotel, landlords responsibility. If you've never been asked for it then don't worry about it. Some immigration offices won't process anything without it ( Phuket) others aren't bothered. It may be that your accommodation had done it for you and you know nothing about it. Have you had reception ask for your passport and departure card? If yes, then they've probably complied with the reporting requirements.

it's called a TM 30, it registers your place of residence with the Thai govt. Legally, wherever a foreigner stays is obligated to inform the govt within 24 hours, so they can keep track of foreigners. Practically, the only time you need it is if you go to immigration asking for something like an extension of stay.

The fact you got this slip of paper from your hotel in Chang Mai is pretty unusual. As Brett mentioned, looks like they did it in person, then gave you this slip.

Very few hotels will do it this way.

Most will do it on line and give you the screen shot.

That hotel did it in person. You can also do it in person with a few documents. Copy of ID hotel owner etc.
