I read everything about the TM.30 but still some things are not clear to me

1. I tried to ask my hotel, but it looks like they dont understand what I want or need. So I downloaded the app - but as guest I cant register, correct?

2. Should I maybe switch my hotel to be sure I'm at a place that does the reporting?

3. For the other self register things I need document from my hotel? Since they dont understand me I'm not sure how I could be able to do so.

Thanks in advance for help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM.30 form is crucial for foreigners staying in Thailand to ensure compliance with immigration regulations. It seems you are having difficulties with your hotel regarding this process. As a guest, you cannot register on the app. It’s advisable to show hotel staff a printout of the TM.30 form or relevant videos to clarify your request. If your hotel still cannot assist you, you could consider switching to another hotel that understands the TM.30 requirements. Also, for self-registration, ensure you have the necessary documents from your hotel, especially if you're going through Bangkok Immigration.

got the TM30 filed correctly by the hotel. She can use that, with other documents, to apply for other extension of stays at the local immigration office (Changwattana). San Dra, if you want commenting reopened, please send an moderator a message.

Hotel in Thailand are obligated (according to law) to do that (usually online).

honestly, I am not sure you get fine in case hotel miss that! usually they are the one that get fine.

maybe others can confirm that.

, The one who goes to the immigration office for that would be fined. IO doesn't care if it is the owner, a foreigner, a representative, or whoever else. You have the right to ask for compensation from the one with responsibility if you are not responsible still get fined (If that person would pay you back or not is a different story).

, I might be wrong but if you stay in Hotel, you don't need to do TM30 by yourself.

I know there are some problem with landlords and private residence , but hotels has been done this all the time according to law .

"According to section 38 of the 1979 immigration act, “House owners, heads of household, landlords or managers of hotels who accommodate foreign nationals on a temporary basis who stay in the kingdom legally, must notify the local immigration authorities within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the foreign national."

Basically, a foreigner doesn't have to do TM30 unless he is staying his own premise.

Not all hotels do these things as they are supposed to do.

But 'who should do this' is not really in the scope of this group.

Correct. I suggest showing them a copy of a printout of a TM30. It's called "Section 38". If you show them what you want, they should be able to produce it for either the middle or bottom part. If they still don't know what a TM30 is, show them this movie

(It's from the Thai government. It's in Thai, subbed in English)

>Should I maybe switch my hotel to be sure I'm at a place that does the reporting?

That's an option, but make sure they will complete.

>For the other self register things I need document from my hotel?

IF you're using Bangkok Immigration, and you want to self register, you need a lease. I don't know what the self registration process is for other provinces though.

thank you.

I definitely don't want to pay a fine because hotel doesn't maybe didn't do the report.

I'll show them the website and video.

Otherwise will change hotel which surely has english speaking staff and will do report
