Hello everyone, so precious to have this Visa specialist group, big thanks to you all. I recently arrived with an OA 1 year valid Visa, installed in Hua Hin, and I am wondering if I have to do any kind of procedure during this year regarding immigration office, given the fact that I won’t move anywhere else, but stay in Hua Hin. Thanks in advance for your answers. Best wishes

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about procedures required during their one-year stay in Hua Hin on an OA Visa. Responses indicate that they must complete 90-day reporting at immigration and ensure a TM30 form is filed. Additionally, they are advised on the importance of a border run close to the visa's expiry for a potential extension.

okay and it appears that the O/P knows they need to have a TM30 filed and do 90 day reporting. We wish them well

Don't forget to do a border bounce a day or two before Visa expiry date and get the "free" second year. A lot less painful than getting an extension

The "free" 2nd year you mentioned, will also require the mandatory OA insurance for that 2nd year, otherwise he will be stamped in until the insurance expiry date instead.

The OA requires ongoing insurance, but from the rumours emanating from different areas it seems all retirement visas will require insurance in the future under the reforms

Not interested in rumors, just making the OP aware of here and now.

Correct. The OA requires ongoing insurance whether it's a border bounce or an in-country extension

Correct

No border bounces through the year. OA visa you are stamped in for one year

@Phil *****
There is no single entry OA

@Roberto ********
does this work on the single entry OA?

The first full year of the OA visa from the date of issue is a multi-entry Visa. During the second year, then you will need to have a re-entry permit to leave Thailand and reenter keeping the OA valid.

90 Day reports are mandetory

As the OA gives you a years permission to stay, you will have to do 90 day reports at immigration. For this you will need to have filed a TM30
