May I ask what the next step I gotta do is upon arriving in Thailand?

Do I have to report to a nearby Immigration Dept within 30 or 90 days in order to convert or verify my visa ?

what documents do I need to submit when getting to the Immigration dept? (a letter from the Thai bank , bank statement , passport copy ,โ€ฆ)

Sorry ,message is a bit wordy!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon arrival in Thailand with a non-OA retirement visa, you do not need to convert your visa, as it grants you a one-year entry stamp. However, you or your landlord must file a TM30 notification with the local immigration office to confirm your residence. Additionally, remember that you will be required to report your stay in 90 days (known as a 90-day report). For your TM30 filing, you should be prepared to present various documents including bank statements, a letter from your Thai bank, and a passport copy.

and on that note, seeing as this thread is getting side tracked

We are done Paul go file a TM30, and talk to your immigration office about if you have to refile when you come back from abroad

If you want to ask something about NOT related to OP, please make your own post. Thank you for your advice everyone.

Ya something new, they gave you straight away one year!

nothing new, that is how an OA visa works when you enter on it. It's NOT a Non-O visa it's a Non-OA and that visa gets you stamped in for a new year (or as long as your mandatory health insurance is good for up to a year) every time you enter for the validity of the visa itself

@Tod ********
wonder why the thai embassy last year gave me the non o then. Just curiosity to try to understand how things works

@Massimo ********
a non-O visa is good only for a 90 day entry stamp. Totally different visa type

An OA requires a police back ground check, medical certificate, proof of funds in your country, mandatory health insurance.

@Tod ********
yes I had all done! Police clear check, insurance, funds in thai bank since more than 2 months, everything was in perfect order ๐Ÿ™‚ medical check up, insurance and so on

Then all I can say
@Massimo ********
is you didn't APPLY for the OA visa from the thai consulate.

@Tod ********
ok didnโ€™t know. Thank you!

wow just knew the Non-OA can get stamp for one year straight, amazing. How about after due, it is auto renew or need to apply fresh again and go back for the first step?

@Eric ******
a Non-OA visa <-that you can ONLY get from a thai consulate in your country or a country where you hold legal permanent resident status ALWAYS gets you stamped in for a year (or as long as your mandatory health insurance is good for). That's how that visa works

@Tod ********
Thanks and this OA requirement? We should get re-entry permit if need to fly out and come back Thailand under this type of VISA too correct?
Tod *********
@Eric ******
that OA visa is sold as a year long, multi-entry one, <- meaning you can enter / exit all you want for a year (as long as the visa is valid for) and each time you enter you get stamped in for a whole new year (or as long as your health insurance is valid for)

@Tod ********
Noted with many thanks

You do NOTHING to convert your visa to anything, you have a visa and you used it to get a year entry stamp ๐Ÿ™‚ You're good to stay here for that length of time.

You or your land lord go to the immigration office and file a TM30 (notification of foreigner in residence) that shows you live in the area served by the immigration office

AND

in 89 days you will have a 90 day report due

other than that enjoy your time here

thank you very much for your reply! Do you mean what I have to do now is just simply file a TM30 at an immigration office nearby ?

Actually I tried to do it online many times on my second day but got fed up with the system ! I didn't know what I had been doing, let alone whether it was successful or not!

One more question , how can I gain a multiple ~reentry as I may wanna leave Thailand for a couple of days a few months later?

Thanks so much!๐Ÿ™

As far as your TM30,

GO to your immigration office and file one and while you're there ask them if you have to re-file when you come back from abroad or not
Tod *********
@Paul *****
you don't NEED a re-entry permit. LOOK at the visa sticker in your passport it should have a date of issue and a valid until or enter before date on it (they should be a YEAR apart) and under number of entries it should say "multiple" <- that means you can exit/enter the country as much as you want during the validity of the visa and you will always get stamped back in for a whole new year (or as long as your health insurance is valid for)

You don't need a re-entry permit at this time.

Hello, i just want to ask,as you mentioned TM30 here, how often i will notify the IO, is it everytime i go out of country?some some24hrs others says upto 7days? But i stays in the same rented place.
Tod *********
@Moore-Jane *******
ASK your immigration office, some say once you file a TM30 and come back to that address from abroad, you don't need to file again, some say you do it every time you come back into the country.
