Do I need to report every 90 days with a Non-Immigrant O-A visa in Thailand?

Hi,

I have a question about my Non-Immigrant O-A 1 year multiple visa (I am over 50).

I stated in my visa application to stay 182 days in Thailand.

My embassy (Berlin) told me, that I have to report every 90 days at immigration or leave the country and return again.

On arrival I got an entry stamp until June 11th, no words about 90 day reporting.

Now I am wondering if I can stay the whole time without the need to go to immigration or leaving the country?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the necessity of 90-day reporting while holding a Non-Immigrant O-A visa in Thailand, which allows for a one-year stay. Initially confused, the user received clarification that despite stating an intention to stay for 182 days, the visa allows for a year-long stay from the date of entry. Immigration experts confirmed that 90-day reporting is mandatory for longstay visa holders, and the user must report every 90 days, with their first report due on March 10th, 2024.

Seperate tasks..

Your 90day reporting you must fill out the TM30 form it's to let the immigration office where you are staying/living

Sorry my apologies it's a TM47 NOT A TM30

Also, since you are multiple, if you leave Thailand and return, the 90 day countdown resets on your return date.

What date did you arrive in Thailand?

On march 10th you will be 90 days in Thailand. You can go to the Immigration 2 weeks before or 1 week after.

You're confusing a couple things

First no matter what you told them on the visa application once you get the visa issued, when you enter on an OA visa you're stamped in for a year from the date you enter (or until your health insurance runs out which ever is less).

So if you want to, you're good to stay until June 11th 2024 no issues.. (y)

Now the next thing is the 90 day reporting..

Because you have a "longstay visa" if you stay IN thailand for 90 days you have to go to the immigration office and file a 90 day report <- it's FREE, and once you do one they give you a receipt saying when the next one is due..

Your first 90 day report would have been due 89 days from the date you ENTERED thailand on that visa, and failure to have filed a 90 day report on time gets a 2000baht fine..

So, you do the math, figure out when your 90 day report is(was) due, go to your immigration office and file one (and if you're late take the 2000baht fine)

. June 11th is indeed the end date of my insurance. So I will file the 90 day report.

you first 90 day report will be due on Mar 10th ๐Ÿ™‚ as people said you can go file at the immigration from 2 weeks before down until 1 week after the due date without any problem
