Recently I went to the Nakhonratchasima immigration office to get a an extension to my O family class visa. When I presented a photocopy of my marriage certificate from Canada ( BC ) I was told it had to be translated to Thai and certified and legalized. The wording on the form is “ ( In case, Document from other country must have translation to English or Thai Certify by your Embassy in Thailand and

Legalization fromThai Consulate.)”

Previously a photocopy was good enough.

I haven’t a clue how to go about this or exactly what it means.

Any suggestions ?

I will be phoning the Canadian embassy first thing Monday morning.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster seeks guidance on how to translate and certify their Canadian marriage certificate for a visa extension at the Nakhonratchasima immigration office. They mention that previous photocopies were accepted but were informed that the document now needs to be translated into Thai and certified. Comments suggest getting the document certified by the Canadian embassy, translating it to Thai, and then having it legalized, with a recommendation to consider using a local agent for efficiency.

You have to get your embassy to certify that it is an original & valid document then get it translated to Thai & certified at MFA, hopefully your embassy will be able to point you in the right direction.

I used a local agent to run around bangkok & get this done for me as it was more effective than spending a couple of days there to do it myself

You have to get the kor ror 22 at the amphoe office. For this, you have to get a stamp from the MFA on your marriage certificate first.
