Hi 👋! I intended to get married with Thai male since June 2021. We are currently living in Chiang Mai. I got my single certificate from my country. Amphur said we can’t get married foreigners to Thai citizens because of Covid-19 restrictions but Thai citizens to Thai can do it. We can’t effort lawyer but we got all documents that we need. We just need to bring two witnesses and register. Do you have any suggestions for this situation? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat is facing challenges in getting married to a Thai citizen in Chiang Mai due to Amphur stating COVID-19 restrictions prevent foreigner-Thai citizen marriages. The couple possesses the necessary documents and just needs witnesses to register the marriage. The community suggests trying different Amphur offices, as there are multiple options in Chiang Mai, and some have been known to process such marriages despite restrictions.

believe me there's more than one Amphur district office in Chiang Mai, have your thai husband start pounding the phone and calling around to see which one will do it

any suggestions for this couple?

Go to another Amphur is my suggestion. You do not have to get married in the Amphur or province where you are living.
