Does anyone know how we are suppposed to get official documents like birth certificates and marriage certificates from the US notarized. The US embassy in Chiang Mai and in Bangkok doesn’t do it anymore, yet it’s still required for family members following on my work visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The US embassy in Thailand no longer notarizes documents such as birth and marriage certificates, which are required for visa processes. To obtain notarization, it's suggested to have the documents certified in the US. For documents already in Thailand, they need to be translated into Thai and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In some cases, individuals have had success notarizing an affidavit that confirms the authenticity of the documents, followed by translation and authentication at a Thai consulate.

The embassy would not notarize my marriage certificate, but did notarize an affidavit where I certified that what was on the certificate was truthful. I then had to take certificate and notarized affidavit to Thai Consulate at CW for translation and authentication.

If it's like it is for UK documents, it has to be done in the US, as it's no longer an Embassy service.

You probably need to get them translated to Thai then certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.
