What Are the Requirements to Extend My Tourist Visa Exemption in Thailand with a Thai Marriage Certificate?

Hi,

I’m planning to extend my Tourist Visa Exemption (expired 15 April 2020) in Muang Thong Thani for family visit reason (married to a Thai). Does the marriage certificate copy needs to be legalized by embassy? And does it need Kor Ror 22?

If those are required, I couldn’t fulfill it because the district office will be close for a while until government’s new regulation. Should I extend Tourist Visa Exemption based on Tourist reason (providing ticket, etc)?

Would love to know the exact requirements from those who have their first extension of Tourist Visa Exemption. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking to extend their Tourist Visa Exemption for family reasons, specifically related to their marriage to a Thai citizen. They inquire about the necessity of legalizing their marriage certificate and whether a Kor Ror 22 is required. Additionally, they face challenges due to district office closures and want to know if they can extend based on tourist reasons instead. Comments provide guidance indicating that a Thai marriage certificate does not require legalization and outline the necessary documents for a COVID Emergency Extension.

Suggest you go early...as they limit the # of applicants. If que filled for the day they will tell you to return next day.

At Mueang Thani

For COVID -19 extensions

You need ONLY:

-letter from your Embassy

-passport

-copy of passport front page

-copy of stamp/visa page

-copy of TM6 arrival card receipt

-filled TM7 application form

-two photos

-1,900 Thai baht

Some immigration ..not all... offices are asking for proof of TM30 filing.

If you have a Thai wedding certificate it does not need to be legalized, if it is from abroad then yes it needs to be legalized.

Sorry forgot to mention that my marriage certificate is from abroad. My last attempt to make Visa O (Marriage) didn’t work because they required my marriage to be registered in Thai. I was thinking if the tourist visa exemption extension based on family requires the same thing, then is it better to resort to extension based on tourist instead? Or Covid 19 emergency extension?
