TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses obtaining a 60-day visa for Thailand, detailing that individuals can get a visa exempt entry on arrival, which may be extended by 30 days without needing a traditional visa application. Various comments highlight the importance of having a return or onward ticket and the potential need for proof of exit from Thailand. Suggestions include utilizing local resources such as libraries for computer access to handle any necessary online forms, and using official immigration websites for accurate information.

You will get 60 days visa exemption upon entry. Better to have proof of a return/onward ticket though.

No need to buy a visa, you are eligible for a free 60 day visa exempt entry stamp. The only thing you need to do in advance is fill out the free TDAC arrival form online. Only fill in the starred items.

You need to use google more

Learn to search on google app

If you type in

What visa do I need for holiday in Thailand many posts will tell you

That you just fly into Thailand and you will be stamped for 60 days

No application requirements

Maybe you need someone to show you how to research stuff using your phone

You will need to do that when travelling for many things

If you go into your local library, not only can you use the computers there, but the staff are usually on hand to help you with such things, or provide you with a session for navigating/ learning yourself 👍🏽

I'm in Kirkby but fly out on Thursday. As stated though you get 60 days visa free and possible to extend in immigration whilst in Thailand for around £50 I think

It's nice and easy, if it's first time there you'll have no problems. It's at the discretion of the immigration officer for extension but I've never had a problem.

They just brought in the digital arrival cards which can be complete 3 days before flying is easy just takes 10 minutes

Depends when you fly out. As long as it’s 90 days total until Sept 19th you’ll be fine. If not you’ll have to leave Thailand a bit earlier as overstaying is 500thb a day fine and can mess up your chances of other visas in the future.

Good luck and enjoy your holiday 😁

okay, I was just checking you weren't applying for the non O retirement visa, because if your plan is to retire in Thailand, you need the non O visa before travelling, or you would not be able to open a bank account to extend your stay.

Pete Rogers I concur with others, don't bother with a tourist visa at the moment, just get 60 days visa exemption on arrival then extend +30 days in country if needed. No hassles.

Pete Rogers I did exactly that but ditched the flight to Cambodia when I arrived in Thailand and just got my 30 days extension done at the immigration office. 90 days total. Off to Laos in July

with a one way flight you need to check with your airline if they will alow you to fly. A couple of the airlines need you to show proof that you are going to leave Thailand in the 60 days.

Check first and then you won't have any issues on the day you fly.

funnily enough I also had an issue with Qatar at Manchester. I have a Non Immigrant O and the guy at check in was not going to allow me to fly without an onward flight from Thailand. I explained what a non immigrant O visa was but it was pointless. I asked to see the supervisor and luckily she know what she was looking at so problem was resolved.

Qatar more strict I guess..but being strict..means they should know all the rules for every country so is impossible I guess. Lucky some one knows about your non o lol

I’m on the Wirral but I’m in Thailand at the moment. Are you aware that you can enter Thailand on a 60 day exempt. No visa required

Personally I would go on the flight and stay in Cambodia for a few days. Explore a beautiful country. Come back in and get a further 60 days. All depends on what you are looking for.
