What do I need to extend a visa exempt entry stamp in Hua Hin if the TM30 hasn’t been filed?

Extending a visa exempt entry stamp (30 days) in Hua Hin: does anyone have any recent info on whether this office is hardcore about having TM30 filed?

Asking on behalf of a friend who thinks the owner of the apartment where he's staying did not file it.

TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion regarding extending a visa exempt entry stamp in Hua Hin highlights the importance of the TM30 registration for staying legally in Thailand. A user suggests that the friend should ask the apartment owner whether the TM30 was filed, and provides advice on what documents to bring to the immigration office, such as the lease contract and proof of residence in case the TM30 was not registered.

Okay, ask your friend to visit his landlord. He asked than if the landlord did or did not make the address registration. IF yes than no problem, if not ask for a copy of the landlord is ID (front and back) and a copy of the blue house book and the land lord has to sign them both. Than visit Immigration Office, fill out the TM30 form and register the address and than apply for the Extension of Stay.

With your way of thinking they would also fine him for not register his address from the moment he arrived in Hua Hin till the moment he checked into a hotel who does this for him. You always arrived last night if you register your address, where you stayed before does not matter and is not asked for or to get fined for.

but in that case tgey will fine him for not filing within 24 hours of arival i guess. They charge 800 or 1600 baht. Option is to go for 1 night to chesp hotel if they book you in....

So you actually ask us to find out if the unknown owner of an unknown apartment in Hua Hin did the address registration for your unknown friend so he can apply for an Extension of Stay. I guess it is more easy to tell your friend to contact this owner and simply ask if he is registered or not.

Dujon Weburn Don't know your age, but this law is made in 1979. So if you start complaining now you are 40 years to late or if younger you did not do your home work before moving to Thailand.

No, I'm providing context about the situation. My question is in the first paragraph of the post. I.e. "does anyone have any recent info on whether this office is hardcore about having TM30 filed?"
