Got a 1 month extension on my 60 day tourist visa in December.
Can I still get a 30 day extension on a 60 day exemption next year? Or does the one year rule applies?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 30-day extension on a 60-day tourist visa exemption after already receiving a one-month extension on a previous visa. Responses indicate that as long as it conforms to the calendar year rules, it should generally not be an issue, though experiences may vary by immigration officer. Suggestions also included considering a multiple-entry tourist visa for more flexibility.
With a 60 days tourist visa you are ok if you have a return within 90 days, that’s what they have told me and both airline and immigration have been ok with it so far
So with a 60 day tourist visa it should not count? When I go back in February can I go on 60 days exempt and extend it 30 days without problem? Not easy to find out this stuff……
*** There is no two-times limit on visa-exempt entries within a one-year period.
*** nothing "resets".
In case you have heard from out of the mouth of an Immigration officer such statements, this officer will soon learn that what he said isn’t true.
They seem to be unable to tell you in proper English the difference between a visa exemption and the extension of the visa-exempt stay permit.
There are only two extensions possible on visa-exempt entries, within a one-year period.
The first extension will be issued for 30 days, the extension for a second visa-exempt entry will be issued for 7 days
You can theoretically do 4, 5 or even 6 visa exempt entries for short 2-3 weeks holidays, within a one-year period, if you never maximize each stay.
Of course, upon each entry, you should be able to proof your onward travel, a few nights of booked accomodation and proof of cash equivalent of 20,000 THB
*** the picture of the pink post and the picture from the Laos border, both are telling you absolute rubbish.
The rubbish text contents get published so many times in many group threads, and every group admin is warning you to NOT believe any of the drivel it contains

You should refrain from thinking in terms of "calendar year"
I would rather say that all visa-exempt stays within the recent "1-year period" will be considered when you attempt another visa-exempt entry
Just think about it, if a “calendar year” count would be in effect:
This would allow 157 days BEFORE New Year, and 157 more days AFTER New Year, totaling in a 304-days consecutive visa-exempt holiday inside Thailand.
The mind boggles.
Do you really believe that Thai Immigration sums up the amount of visa-exempt stays in "calendar years"?
It won't make much sense

Are they going to be back to back entries ?
You got no idea how an individual IO is going to interpret the rules. In theory should be no problem but.
I have good contact with my local immigration I just need to know what the rules are before my next trip , is the 1 extension/ year only for exempt or includes it a regular 60 days tourist visa. Seems like many people think this is the same thing because both are 60 days………
Can I make 1 extension on 60days exempt and 1 on 60days tourist visa?
