TLDR : Answer Summary
A tourist visa for Thailand allows for a maximum initial entry stay of 60 days, which can be extended by an additional 30 days at a local immigration office, totaling a potential stay of 90 days. Alternatively, travelers may consider applying for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for longer stays.

I recently purchased a single entry tourist visa from within Australia for 60 days duration and cost me $60 . I know I could of just entered visa except for 60 days for free but decided to buy this visa on a slim chance so I,m hearing of opening a bank account
A single-entry tourist visa is for 60 days, but can be extended for a further 30 days at a cost of 1900 baht. A multi-entry visa is valid for 6 months, but every 60-day entry can be extended for 30 days for 1900 baht. If you time your re-entry correctly, you can stay for nearly 9 months.
Depends on your passport country holder. Usually, you will be granted only 60 days and you have to apply for an extension which will grant for 30 days; 90 days in total. But if you want 90 days single visa. Must be other visa type such as Non- immigrant visa. E.g. education visa with single entry which will allow you to stay for 90 days.
If I come as tourist to come 60 days and I know I will extend for another 30 do I have to have a return flight booked or can I do it before the 90 days
You don’t apply for a tourist visa. You will get 60 days on arrival and can extend by another 30 days at immigration. You may be thinking of the NON O visa which is for 90 days
but the retirement visa for over 50’s, do you actually have to be retired? I’m thinking of going for that visa next year but I’m still working in Australia, I work go 2 weeks in Australia then get 2 weeks off and was hoping to come to Thailand for my 2 weeks off.
The problem I had initially was that their website doesn’t accept pdf files so i had to convert everything into jpeg files and took 16 days to be accepted and visa in email
apply for a tourist visa, which will give you 60 days and you can get extend that for 30 more days. But you must apply in your home country and use the E Visa website for Thailand.
I might’ve missed something in his post but every country doesn’t get 60 days visa exempt. I don’t know how you could give that advice without knowing what country he is from. Just saying
METV start as soon as they are approved, and while it has been, and maybe still is, possible to min/max 9 months out of it i wonder if that will be still possible with the current events. 🤷♂️
a tourist visa is valid for 90 days for you to use it to enter the country. So plenty time to book flights and accomodation before you land. Once you enter you get 60 day stay.
for the application to the single entry and multi entry tourist visa, both Thai consulates in Frankfurt and Munich want you to upload already booked tickets. And I reckon some other Thai embassies and consulates will do the same
yepp, both consulates ask for inbound and outbound real flight tickets when you apply for the TR visa, despite the application asks for "intended" dates and not "already booked" dates . . . it is Thai logic
